Team Falcons is about to make massive changes to its CS2 roster. Four players have already been benched and will soon be replaced by new ones.

It’s clear that this is a very ambitious project. You don’t sign zonic as your coach and expect to achieve nothing. And the fact that he was signed indicated that massive roster changes would follow, because he’s not the type of guy who will agree to coach a team that has no hope of winning.

The current situation

The only member left from the old guard is BOROS. At 19, he’s still very young and has tremendous potential. The fact that he’s from Jordan might have also helped him a bit, given that the new owners of the teams are from Saudi Arabia.

NBK-, bodyy, lauNX, and mhL were benched. Now we’re all wondering who will be signed until the end of the year. This team seems to be quite patient and will likely start competing for real only next year. But until then, preparations need to be made, which means that lots of big names should be announced by the end of the month.

Quite a few great players are currently not competing. The most important one is s1mple, but there are others too: Stewie2K, olofmeister (presumably retired for good), cadiaN, etc.

One player who will almost certainly be signed is Magisk. Zonic has been relying on him for many years and the two of them know each other well. With Magisk as a core piece, the new strategy can be rebuilt much easier. But he’s just one of the four new members of Falcons. Who are the other three?

We know that NiKo received an offer and turned it down. He’s having a great time with G2 Esports and he’s not interested in leaving just for a bigger paycheck. Others may not do the same. But to be fair, most players are not in his position.

Falcons cannot afford to buy a cheap set of players. They’ve already invested a lot of money into zonic’s transfer and presumably Magisk’s, so there’s no going back. The caliber of the other three members will need to match theirs. Otherwise, it will take many months to obtain high-level results.

The fact that Falcons have not announced their complete roster after many weeks of rumors suggests that they’re struggling to get the names they want. But sooner or later, they will need to settle for the best they can find.
