A week after T1 emerged victorious from Worlds 2023, every starting player extended their contract with the South Korean organization to stay together for the 2024 season.
The professional League scene is undergoing a significant talent reshuffle, but the World Champions want to remain together through the 2024 season. Just a day after bringing back the renowned head coach Kkoma, T1 has renewed the contract of the world champion roster. This marks the first time T1’s world champions roster remains intact for the next season. None of the lineups that won those championships in 2013–2015, 2016–and 2015 returned for competition fully the following season.

T1 put all rumors to rest with the re-signing of three players

Lee “Faker” Sang-hyeok re-signed a three-year deal with the organization at the end of 2023, while the contract for jungler Mun “Oner” Hyeon-jun expires in 2024. This implied that three members of T1’s championship-winning lineup—Choi “Zeus” Woo-je, support Ryu “Keria” Min-seok, and Lee “Gumayusi” Min-hyeong were unrestricted following Worlds 2023, sparking a lot of speculation about potential roster changes among the community.

There were even speculations on the squad before Worlds that they might be splitting up the roster after this season. Zeus, the leading lane player for Team T1, hinted at a future roster change, saying that this could be the final event we can play with this team. After T1 won the Worlds, the speculation only got heated because it was certain that these three would receive a huge increase in offers.

All of the players have finally reached deals to extend their contracts with the illustrious organization, even though there have been reports that the players—especially Zeus—had gotten amazing offers from both the LCK and the LPL.

The sole roster change for T1 is that Kim “kkOma” Jeong-gyun, the head coach of their previous championship-winning teams, is returning to oversee the Worlds 2023 victors in the upcoming season. T1 has every reason to go into the new year as the front-runner for the LCK championship, especially with Kkoma back in the coaching chair and the entire lineup gelling after an amazing world performance. T1 initially teased this news with a cryptic video, which showcases six unidentified members.
