One of the most experienced and veteran Jungler in the LCS competitive scene, Dennis “Svenskeren” Johnsen, announced that he is retiring as a professional. This 27-year-old player spent over nine years in the competitive League of Legends scene in North America, and there is no doubt that he leaves a great legacy.

For all of us who grew up watching these players dominate the game, this news is devastating, as many of them were idols to many. Unfortunately, however, life in esports is shorter than anyone else could imagine, and in recent times, many legends of different video games are saying goodbye.

Svenskeren announces his retirement from the competitive scene

After a very long career in the LCS scene, former TSM player in its Challengers division, Dennis “Svenskeren” Johnsen, announced his retirement as a professional via his Twitter account.

However, in addition to mentioning his great achievements in the LCS, the player also detailed that he is not completely retiring from the scene, as he is looking for opportunities as a Coach.

About Svenskeren

The 29-year-old experienced Jungler was part of the TSM Challengers team during the 2022 season. However, the player failed to sign with an LCS team for the past two seasons, and his last time on a top-tier LoL server in NA was in 2021 when he played for Evil Geniuses.

Svenskeren was also part of Cloud9’s lineup when he was at his competitive peak in the 2018 and 2019 seasons. However, even though the player was one of the team’s best and led them to be in the TOP 4 of Worlds 2018, he could not achieve an LCS championship with C9. This performance by C9 in 2018 was the best in the entire history of the LCS, as no other team has made it past the semifinals.

Similarly, old-school LoL fans may know Svenskeren best when he was part of TSM between the 2016-2017 seasons. At that time, the Jungler managed to form one of the most fearsome lineups in the LCS scene:

  • Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng
  • Søren “Bjergsen” Bjerg
  • Vincent “Biofrost” Wang
  • Kevin “Hauntzer” Yarnell

While this team may not have been able to perform well at international events at the time, there is no doubt that the three championships won in the LCS will stand the test of time.

Now, Svenskeren wants to build a new stage in his career within the League of Legends competitive scene, but this time as a Coach. That’s why the 29-year-old is looking for a new home to take the reins and lead them to victory in the LCS Summer Split 2023.
