The 2023 season of the Counter-Strike competitive scene continues, and the teams do not rest in searching for the ideal lineup that can make them much more competitive. In this opportunity, one of the game’s legends, the Polish Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski, was signed by GamerLegion as a new IGL.

There is no doubt that this is great news, both for GamerLegion fans and for the Counter-Strike community in general, as we will have the return of a legend at the highest competitive level.

On the other hand, it is also a great surprise, considering the level of GamerLegion nowadays. Let’s remember that the team reached the Grand Final of the Paris Major several months ago, but from that moment on, GL’s performance went downhill, especially after the departure of Kamil “siuhy” Szkaradek and Ivan “iM” Mihai.

GamerLegion announce the signing of Snax

Through a post on its official Twitter account, the European organization GamerLegion announced the signing of Snax as the team’s new IGL.

There is no doubt that this is great news for the competitive Counter-Strike scene and even more so now that we are in full transition to CS2. Snax’s experience can be of great use to this team, which undoubtedly continues to be hit by the departure of siuhy and iM. Recall that siuhy now belongs to MOUZ, while iM plays for NaVi.

Since that time, GamerLegion has tried to rebuild with the addition of some players. However, the team has not been as successful as expected, and, of course, they have not reached the level they showed in the Paris Major.

GamerLegion’s goal with the signing of Snax

While it is true that Snax is one of the game’s legends and, of course, one of the best players in Counter-Strike history, many wonder about GL’s goal with this signing. Snax is 30 years old and hasn’t played at his best since 2019. In addition, it has also been many years since the Pole has won a championship trophy, so it will have to be seen if he keeps his winning blood.

On the other hand, if the team’s goal is the addition of experience, there is no doubt that they hit the nail on the head. However, if they expect Snax to bring great performance and push his teammates to be on top again, he may not be the one, as the Pole records a 1.04 Rating according to HLTV during this season.

GL failed to qualify for the ESL Pro League S18 playoffs, losing in the Group A Lower Bracket final to FURIA 0-2. However, the team beat NiP and Grayhound Gaming along the way.

GL is still in the TOP 10 of the HLTV world rankings. However, there is no doubt that this place in the rankings is mainly due to their excellent performance at the Paris Major, as their subsequent results were disappointing.
