Snax breaks the record for most kills in CS:GO held by JW

We are very close to releasing the highly anticipated Counter-Strike 2 (CS2), so we could see the last CS:GO actions in the competitive scene. However, this does not prevent some professional players and legends of the game from reaching new milestones and breaking some records in the little time left.

This time, we have 30-year-old experienced Polish player Janusz “Snax” Pogorzelski breaking the record of kills in official CS:GO games held to date by Jesper “JW” Wecksell.

With JW retired and the rest of the players on the list somewhat far away in terms of stats, it is highly unlikely that another will surpass him in this short time. Also, remember that Snax has been in the Counter-Strike competitive scene since the game’s launch, so he has a lot of ground to make up.

Snax surpasses JW and becomes the player with more kills in CS:GO

As we mentioned, the 30-year-old Pole, Snax, surpassed CS:GO legend JW on the list of players with the most kills in the game’s history. According to HLTV statistics, Snax has 43,531 kills (when writing this article), while JW drops to the second position with 43,474.

The Pole will likely stay on this list until CS2 is officially released. Snax is still active as a professional player despite playing in Tier 2 and 3 tournaments. Also, it is worth mentioning that Snax broke the record in the match where his team, Pompa Team, won the Polska Liga Esportowa Superpuchar 2023 over Dynamo Eclot last Sunday, August 27.

On the other hand, JW might have his place inside the podium in danger, as his closest pursuers are İsmailсan “XANTARES” Dörtkardeş (Eternal Fire) and Johannes “tabseN” Wodarz (BIG) are still active. Also, we still don’t know the CS2 release date, so both players might still be accumulating kills until then.

CS2 – What do we know?

While it is true that CS2 was announced last March 23, and Valve assured that the official worldwide release would be in summer 2023, not many (or any) details have been revealed about it. Besides the access to the limited test of CS2, we can only observe some updates to the beta, and we are limited to only seeing the streams of those who have access.

However, in the last few hours, well-known CS leaker ThourCS shared on his Twitter account that Valve could release CS2 before September 23, according to some game features.

Similarly, there is no doubt that we are tired of so many rumors and leaks and are finally flirting for this one to be true.
