There is no doubt that the level of play shown by ENCE at IEM Dallas was phenomenal, and their 2-0 win over MOUZ was more than deserved. However, this achievement gives much more value to Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer, who raises the trophy of champion of a first-level tournament at 32 years of age. Snappi has been active in the Counter-Strike competitive scene since 2008.

The presence of ENCE and MOUZ at the IEM Dallas Grand Final only confirms the excellent level currently in the CS:GO competitive scene. It is unlike in previous years, where a FaZe Clan, NaVi, G2, and even Astralis dominated the scene at will. Right now, the talent is very big in the world, and any team can be at the top of the podium.

Snappi lifts his first top-level trophy

The 32-year-old Dane has enjoyed an excellent career as a professional in the Counter-Strike scene and, thanks to that, has earned approximately $291,000, according to Liquipedia. However, the experienced IGL had never managed to lift a trophy from any top-level tournament before.

Snappy came to ENCE at the start of the 2021 season when the team was transitioning its all-Finnish lineup to an international one. This experienced IGL has been able to lift this team gradually, and despite playing a Paris Major to forget, where they finished between the 12th-14th place with a 1-3 record, they managed to win IEM Dallas with a spectacular run.

Snappi considers himself the best Danish IGL on the scene

In an interview Snappi gave BLAST during the Paris Major, we could see how confident this experienced Danish IGL is at this point in his career. According to Snappi, he is currently the best Danish IGL out there in the competitive CS:GO scene. However, he also added that he is raising a team with a very low budget compared to Astralis, FaZe, and Heroic, where we have great IGLs like Finn “karrigan” Andersen, Casper “cadiaN” Møller, and Lukas “gla1ve” Rossander.

On the other hand, he referred specifically to Karrigan, one of the game’s legends, where he mentioned that he feels great respect for his rival, but he must believe and be sure that he is good enough to face and beat him.

On the other hand, we can also highlight that IEM Dallas 2023 was a small sample of Snappi’s great level. He beat Karrigan twice, Gla1ve once, and Rasmus “HooXi” Nielsen, another Danish IGL on the scene, on his way to winning the tournament.

ENCE’s run at IEM Dallas ended with a comfortable Grand Final win over MOUZ, as the European lineup could not stop the onslaught of Alvaro “SunPayus” Garcia and Guy “NertZ” Iluz.

Finally, this is not an entirely painful defeat for the MOUZ boys either. Remember that this team had great years at even the top of the world ranking. However, lately, they have shown difficulties obtaining good results in the tournaments they participate in. That is why a runner-up finish right now only shows us the great quality currently in the CS:GO competitive scene.
