Sentinels round out Valorant roster with dephh

Sentinels finalized its starting lineup for the upcoming VCT 2023 tournament circuit with the addition of former XSET player Rory “dephh” Jackson.

Dephh, a former member of XSET, has officially joined Sentinels as the new IGL of its Valorant team, putting to rest long-running speculations. Dephh played for XSET for over 15 months. His performance in 2022 was fairly impressive, as he and his teammates triumphed in the NSG Winter and Summer tournaments as well as the VCT Challengers Series 2.

However, the 2022 VCT season was rendered a little more challenging after XSET’s elimination from the Copenhagen Masters quarterfinals. Despite this, dephh and the team managed to earn enough points to enter the Valorant Champions tournament and get to the Upper Bracket semifinal before falling to OpTic Gaming. However, in the wake of the XSET’s rejection of a 2023 partnership, Zachary “zekken” Patrone along with coach Don “Syyko” Muir joined Sentinels earlier this month.

While other partnered teams have started to assemble their rosters, the Sentinels have finalised theirs with the top performers who have previously shown incredible potential. Two days earlier, Sentinels acquired Valorant Champions 2022 winners Gustavo “Sacy” Rossi and Bryan “pancada” Luna from LOUD. Sacy and Pancada were crucial to the success of the team LOUD, who won the 2022 VCT World Champions that just ended.

Sentinels are set for 2023 VCT

Sentinels parted ways with Shahzeb “ShahZaM” Khan and Michael “dapr” Gulino, two of their founding members, to make room for the Brazilian duo. The Masters Reykjavik 2021 champions, ShahZaM, and dapr are currently unrestricted free agents and are seeking a new team to play for in 2023. Sentinels, on the other hand, have ended its roster overhaul for the VCT 2023 season with the addition of dephh.

As he did for his previous team, pANcada will assume the position of a controller for Sentinels as his clever moves with Omen have enthralled teammates, opponents, and fans alike.Sacy will probably take on the job as an initiator for Sentinels given how well she gets along with Sova and Fade. Zekken is expected to be the team’s main duelist, with dephh coming in as a flex agent when the squad needs an additional initiator or controller agent.  Following the extension of his contract, Tyler “TenZ” Ngo has also confirmed that he will remain with the squad, while Michael “shroud” Grzesiek’s future with the team is still in the air. Given how formidable the core appears to be on paper, Sentinels will likely do well in the upcoming VCT 2023, which begins in February with a kickoff tournament featuring all 30 partnered teams.
