Ranked play in Modern Warfare 2 is coming soon

Many players express that they regret the use of skill-based matchmaking. In practice, they gain rank experience without the satisfaction or reward of leveling up in a competitive rank.

Ranked matches in Modern Warfare 2

A few hours ago, Infinity Ward announced that the second season of Modern Warfare 2 is delayed a couple higof weeks, and its official release date is February 15. This news also includes information regarding the expected ranked games. Well, we have good news, ranked matches will arrive in the new season.

While it is true that Infinity Ward is the developer of Modern Warfare 2, Treyarch, the creators of Black Ops, are the ones in charge of ranked matches in the game’s multiplayer mode. According to the developers, ranked matches in Modern Warfare 2 are available from the February 15 update.

There is no doubt that the wait has been very long for MW2 lovers, but this is about to end. However, by the time Ranked Games are officially available, it will have been more than three months since its launch.

Leaks regarding ranked matches in MW2

Famous Call of Duty leaker, TheGhostOfHope, as this person is known on Twitter, posted information on what the competitive or ranked mode will look like in MW2.

In the thread, the leaker details ranks, skill splits, seasonal skill rankings, and many more.

In addition, ranked matches will be in 4v4 mode and have the same game modes, settings, and maps as the Call of Duty League. Ranks will be separated into seven separate skill divisions.

What the ranks will look like

According to TheGhostOfHope, the rank is persistent. But the skill index changes and is adjusted for each match based on “win or loss, personal performance, and margin of victory.” The leaker also says the ranges are:

• Bronze
• Silver
• Gold
• Platinum
• Diamond
• Crimson
• Iridescent

It is expected that in the coming days or weeks, we will have official information regarding ranked games in Modern Warfare 2 Season 2.
