Since 2017, developer Ubisoft has had a winning horse with Rainbow Six Siege and its Six Invitational esports tournament.

This event repeats this 2023 and is followed by millions of spectators throughout the world and also has exciting and important sponsors worldwide, such as Predator, Paypal, Aimlab, and Tourisme Montréal.

Six Invitational 2023

From February 7 to 19, the 20 best R6 teams in the world will fight to lift the coveted hammer and become world champions. In addition, the teams playing in Montreal, Canada, will fight for a share of the juicy prize pool that amounts to $3,000,000.

This will be the first time since 2020 that the Six Invitational is fully open to the public following the Covid-19 pandemic. However, it will only be from the second half of the playoffs and the grand final.

Undoubtedly, the Six Invitational is a world tournament and the ultimate celebration of Rainbow Six Siege. Therefore, this event shows fans news regarding the game’s future and the R6 competitive scene.

The event is divided into three phases:

  • Group Phase: from February 7 to 11.
  • First playoffs: from February 13 to 15
  • Second playoffs and Grand Final: from February 17 to 19.

Different activities

At the Six Invitational 2023, fans can try out a new game season and meet R6 developers and professional players from different teams. In addition, a merchandising store and much more will also be available.

Participating teams

As mentioned, 20 teams will participate in this event to fight for the coveted world champion trophy and a share of the juicy $3,000,000 prize pool. Of these 20 teams, 16 obtained their ticket through points earned through regional leagues or participating in the Six Majors. On the other hand, the remaining four teams earned their tickets through regional qualifiers.

Reigning world champions TSM will not participate in the tournament to defend their title after losing to Spacestation Gaming in the NA Closed Qualifier Grand Final. Spacestation and TSM won their Six Invitational titles after winning the 2020 and 2022 Closed Qualifiers.

Six Invitational Format

The 20 participating teams will play the Group Stage in a single BO3 round-robin match in their respective groups. The matches will be simultaneously conducted through the official R6 Twitch and YouTube channels.

From each group, only one team will be sent home after the Group Stage. This means that 16 teams will advance to the tournament playoffs. In this stage, matches will be played in a double-elimination format, and the grand final will be played in BO5 format with no map advantage.

The top team from each group advances directly to the second round of the Upper Bracket, while the runner-up teams advance to the first round of the Upper Bracket.
