Major IV of the 2023 Call of Duty League season is underway, and on the first day of the Winners Bracket, we could see how OpTic, Subliners, Thieves, and FaZe got victories to continue the top bracket.

This demonstrates that what we saw in the online qualifiers regarding OpTic Texas and Los Angeles Thieves was not coincident. Both teams are shaping up to be finalists in the Major, and we will find out in the next few days. On the other hand, the Subliners also ratified their great momentum by beating Las Vegas Legion, while Atlanta FaZe dealt a hard blow to the Seattle Surge.

LA Thieves beat Minnesota RØKKR relatively comfortably

The Thieves, who finished the online qualifiers with an excellent 4-1 record, picked up an excellent 3-1 win over Minnesota RØKKKR to remain in the Winners Bracket in this Major IV.

LA Thieves started the series very strong, winning at Al Bagra Fortress (Hardpoint) by 250-187 and El Asilo (Search&Destroy) by 6-2. Unfortunately, Kenneth “Kenny” Williams made life miserable for the RØKKR boys who could do virtually nothing in these two games.

In the third game at Himmelmatt Expo (Control), the RØKKKR woke up momentarily thanks to a great collective game and won 3-2. After that, however, the series returned to the Breenbergh Hotel (Hardpoint), where the Thieves struck the third blow to win 3-1.

New York Subliners crush Las Vegas Legion terribly

Las Vegas Legion could not show what they are made of in this match against the Subliners, as they were outclassed throughout. However, there is no doubt that, in these moments, that is to say, in a Major, is where we can observe the experience and the serenity of the teams, and that is what the champion of the Major I, NY Subliners, has demonstrated perfectly.

The series began evenly matched at Mercado Las Almas, as both teams had opportunities to win. However, it was the Subliners who, with an impressive display of power from their four players, managed to take the victory 250-200.

From this moment on, everything went in favor of the Subliners, as in both Search&Destroy and Control (both played at El Asilo), they won 6-0 and 3-0, respectively, to take the series cleanly and advance to round 2 of the Winners Bracket.

OpTic Texas shows its chest and proves they want to be champions

The 5-0 start in the online qualifiers was not a mirage for OpTic Texas. The current runner-up of Major III has started this Major IV with an excellent victory over a Boston Breach that, although they put up a good fight, could not overcome a completely inspired Brandon “Dashy” Otell.

OpTic started by landing their first blow at Mercado Las Almas (Hardpoint) with a score of 250-164. Without a doubt, all thought this would only be the beginning of a steamroller by the OpTic boys. However, the Breach thought otherwise and immediately struck back at Embassy (Search&Destroy) to win 3-2.

With the series tied 1-1, OpTic Texas took advantage of the excellent level that Dashy was showing to win in Breenbergh Hotel (Control) with a 3-2. Finally, also in Hotel, but this time in Hardpoint, OpTic took the victory 250-191 to continue in the Winners Bracket.

Atlanta FaZe sends Seattle Surge to Elimination Brackets

With a truly spectacular reverse sweep, Atlanta FaZe, led by Chris “Simp” Lehr, managed to take a 3-1 win over the Seattle Surge to stay with two lives in Major IV.

The Surge started this series on the right foot, as they pulled off a masterful and close victory at the Breebergh Hotel (Hardpoint) with a score of 250-229.

However, all this win did was wake up the Major II champions. With Simp and McArthur “Cellium” Jovel completely inspired, Atlanta managed to win the remaining three matches to take the 3-1 victory. Moreover, it’s not just that they won all three games in a row, but they looked infinitely superior to the Surge throughout.
