After the Paris Major ended with Team Vitality’s excellent and overwhelming victory over Team GamerLegion in the Grand Final, HLTV published the CS:GO World Rankings with some important changes.

As expected, Team Vitality remained at the top of the World Rankings after their excellent win and overall performance at the Paris Major. Team Vitality, thanks to spectacular plays by Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut, who was named MVP of the tournament, managed to lift the champions trophy in the last Major in the CS:GO era in their own country.

However, after many surprising results, the Ranking had some changes that, without a doubt, are impressive.

Changes in HLTV’s CS:GO World Rankings

Everyone in the CS:GO community knows that the Paris Major was full of unexpected and surprising results. Many TOP teams and teams that were called to fight for the champions trophy suffered tough defeats against Tier 2 teams. For example, teams like Monte and Apeks, who have been playing Tier 2 tournaments for much of their season, beat NaVi and Team Liquid, respectively.

As a result, the positions in the HLTV world rankings have undergone different changes, especially within the TOP 10.

Throughout the Paris Major, Team Vitality managed to climb to the first position of the Ranking after crushing each of their rivals and displacing Heroic, who could not have an exceptional performance as they would have dreamed. As we can see, ZywOo’s team is now at the top of the Ranking with 1000 points and a comfortable lead of 250 points over second-placed Heroic.

Team GamerLegion was the team that climbed the most places in the Ranking, with 15. The team’s star IGL, Kamil “siuhy” Szkaradek, was in charge of leading this squad of players to an impressive performance in the Paris Major that, after starting with 0-2 in the Challengers Stage, achieved very important and convincing victories to dispute the grand final against Team Vitality.

Apeks and Monte are in the TOP 10

Apeks climbed ten positions in the rankings to be in ninth place. Recall that Apeks reached the semifinals of the Major after crushing Team Liquid in the quarterfinals. However, the team also had big wins over NiP and BNE.

Monte, meanwhile, came very close to completing their Cinderella run at the Paris Major. The team led by Mohammad “BOROS” Malhas, Volodymyr “Woro2k” Veletnjuk, and Viktor “sdy” Orudzhev, managed to beat NaVi to qualify for the Champions Stage of the tournament. However, they then lost to Team GamerLegion in the quarterfinals. As a result, Monte is currently ranked 10th in HLTV’s CS:GO world rankings.

Significant drops in the rankings

Now, while many teams managed to climb many positions in the table, others, like Astralis, saw their place in the world rankings at #25. There is no doubt that the failure of Astralis to get their ticket to the Paris Major has prevented them from being in the online tournaments that have been played recently.

Finally, MOUZ also dropped to 18th place in the Rankings after a disappointing performance at the Paris Major, where they finished with a 0-3 record in the Challengers Stage.
