Naga Siren’s win rate skyrockets in Dota 2 patch 7.33d

Dota 2 patch 7.33d was released just earlier this month and Naga Siren’s win rate has already reached 54.45%, the 3^rd best of all heroes.

This is very strange because the match itself did not buff Naga at all. However, it did nerf a lot of her competitors, which made carry players rethink their strategy.

Naga Siren is rarely picked these days. She appears in less than 4% of all matches. That’s because she’s difficult to play and requires a lot of patience. You won’t win games with Naga in under 25-30 minutes. Usually, the objective is to get to the 40-minute mark and have a significant networth lead thanks to your farming speed.

Naga Siren’s strengths

Naga Siren excels at farming and team fighting. Her illusions, once they are strong enough to not die in just a few hits, will be able to push all the lanes, farm the jungle, and fight multiple opponents at once.

For enemy supports, Naga is one of the most annoying heroes in the game. There’s simply no good way to deal with her illusions. So if you’ve lost map control, you are likely to get pushed into your base.

If she has a good gold advantage, Naga can simply cast her ultimate, get on top of you, and kill you with her illusions in just a few seconds. She can also escape unfavorable fights using her Song of the Siren.

Against heroes that love to blink away or escape somehow, Naga is the perfect counter. Her ensnare will keep a target immobilized for 5s. While every other crowd-control spell in the game has been severely nerfed, Naga’s Ensnare continues to be overpowered. When it is optimally combined with Rip Tide and basic attacks, it becomes deadly.

When playing Naga Siren, the objective is to become tanky enough to gain easy access to jungle farm as fast as possible. After that point, your team is supposed to make space for you. If they can do this for 10-15 minutes without losing all the tier 2 towers, you’re well on your way to winning the game.

Naga tends to be weak against heroes like Anti-Mage, Sven, and other carries that can easily deal with her illusions. But against Templar Assassin, she is very strong. Never pick her against Leshrac, Sand King, or Zeus. You will get destroyed.
