Movistar Riders has acquired former MAD Lions rifler Pere “sausol” Solsona to replace Raúl “DeathZz” Jordán in its active CS:GO lineup.

According to sources, the Spanish organization also explored signing the Romanian star Adam “adamS” Marian but ultimately decided to go with sausol. The 22-year-old has previously played for some well-known teams, including Coalesce and MAD Lions. In his time with MAD Lions, he helped the team place 3-4th at BLAST Premier Fall Showdown 2021 and third at DreamHack Open November 2021. He joined Partizan in August 2022 after leaving MAD Lions, and during his two-month stay with the Serbian team, he played 36 maps, earning an average rating of 1.05.

DeathZz’s stint with Movistar comes to an end

DeathZz has been a part of Movistar Riders for a little over a year, joining the organization for the second time in August 2021 as the roster pivoted back to a Spanish-speaking lineup. The 26-year-old also played for Movistar Riders between 2019 and 2020, but he failed to achieve any noteworthy results during his stint.  However, during his second stint, he partnered with star AWper SunPayus to assist the Spanish squad to achieve new heights in the 2022 season.

The Spanish team first won the ESL Challenger Valencia in July 2022 and continued their momentum by making it to the semifinals of IEM Cologne in the same month. While he performed well in some matches, his stats didn’t seem as impressive as the fans expected, especially after Alvaro “SunPayus” Garcia’s departure. DeathZz, who was the team’s second-lowest-rated player, had an average hltv rating of 0.95 this season.

After losing star AWPer SunPayus to ENCE back in August, the Spanish team went through a spate of poor losses. To replace SunPayus, the Spanish organization hired the promising young talent Antonio Martinez, but over the past two months, the club has suffered a severe decline in performance. The squad endured a difficult 0-5 campaign in the group round of the ESL Pro League Season 16 and was unable to advance to the IEM Rio Major Europe Regional Major Ranking via the open qualifiers.

Movistar Riders CS:GO roster:

  • Alejandro “mopoz” Fernández-Quejo Cano
  • David “dav1g” Granado Bermudo
  • Alejandro “alex” Masanet
  • Antonio “Martinez” Martinez
  • Galder “bladE” Barcena (coach)

Sausol will make his competitive debut with Movistar Riders at the Elisa Invitational Fall quarterfinals against the victor of SAW vs. Endpoint. The tournament’s champion and runner-up will be given the opportunity to compete in Elisa Masters Espoo, which will feature a $200,000 prize pool.
