There is no doubt that September 20, 2023, was a really busy day for Shopify Rebellion, as its different esports divisions were in the community’s spotlight. First, the organization announced its official entry into the LCS for the 2024 season following TSM’s departure. Then, the team and Moist Esports announced that they are joining forces to create a VALORANT lineup called MxS.

This team, Mois x Shopify Rebellion, will be a “collaborative and shared VALORANT program.” In addition, they also announced that the top performers from each organization’s VALORANT lineups will come together to play under one banner. As a result, the players who remain in both lineups are now part of MxS to play in the Challengers scene in the upcoming season.

Moist Esports and Shopify Rebellion announce partnership for a VALORANT program

Through their official Twitter/X accounts, both Moist and Shopify Rebellion announced they are joining forces to create a new VALORANT team called MxS.

As we mentioned, this announcement comes minutes after Shopify Rebellion acquired TSM’s spot in the LCS after purchasing it for $10,000,000.

According to the official statement shared by both organizations, this partnership came about after several conversations this offseason, where both Moist and Shopify “discovered” that they were on the same page and had common goals. As a result, this partnership for 2024 has the best of both organizations to have a competitive team in the Challengers scene.

For all of us who follow the VALORANT Challengers scene in NA, we could all see how Moist and Shopify competed separately throughout 2023. However, neither squad had the grit and pace of play to qualify for VCT Ascension 2023.

Now, the MxS squad consists of the following players:

  • Brock “brawk” Somerhalder
  • Xavier “flyuh” Carlson
  • Adam “mada” Pampuch
  • Brady “thief” Dever
  • Victor “v1c” Truong

Unconditional support for the VALORANT scene

It’s no secret that Moist and Shopify have demonstrated unconditional commitment and support for the VALORANT competitive scene. For example, Shopify has one of the best VALORANT Game Changers lineups, and they came close to winning the main event in 2022 against G2 Gozen.

On the other hand, Moist supported 2023 the CLG Red lineup before FlyQuest signed them.

Now, it only remains to see how this lineup will adapt and how they will perform at the start of next season.
