Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 leaks

The second update of this season for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 is coming. It is expected to be a significant patch, introducing new maps, weapon skins, character cosmetics, and more.

Both Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 feature a wide variety of game modes, but players always expect new additions with every update.

Could Plunder and Cranked be coming to Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2?

Ahead of the arrival of the new update, a new leaker revealed his findings on Twitter, indicating that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 might bring back some of its classic multiplayer modes. Two logos are shown in the found game files, similar to the game modes previously used in earlier CoD titles — Plunder and Cranked.

These assumptions are based on three game mode icons in the game files.

Game modes

One of the icons found was Cranked mode, a Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer mode in which players will become much faster after killing an opponent within 30 seconds.

Players can accumulate certain advantages in this game mode, for example, movement speed, reload speed and aim down the speed with each kill.

The second icon found by the leaker in the game files was the Plunder mode. It is the disturbing game mode of Plunder, a giant fight between more than a hundred players. This mode aims to enable players to get as much money as possible by eliminating opponents and looting the map of Al Mazrah. Plunder mode was not as widely played as the others but still had a large fan base.

On the icons found, there is a red color scheme indicating that these are game modes from Modern Warfare 2.

Without any official information or any statement about the content of the new update from the developers, the appearance of this information only fuels further assumptions among the community. Of course, it is not yet official, and there is no guarantee that these modes will arrive again. We can only wait for the new update on February 1 and see what surprises it will bring for all players.

When will Warzone 2 private games arrive?

During a press conference ahead of the Warzone 2 Season 1 Reloaded update, Activision revealed that they plan to introduce Private Matches “in the new year (2023)”.
