The Journey of Los Angeles in the Lower bracket

The LA Guerrillas had an incredible run in the lower bracket, crushing every single opponent they faced. Following a painful loss in the upper bracket to Boston Breach, the LA Guerrillas got back on track and swept Toronto Ultra 3-0 to advance to the next round of the playoffs.

This was a key moment in team LA’s CDL journey, as the squad went into “God Mode” after this match, winning three straight matches to advance to the tournament’s final versus Atlanta FaZe.

The team defeated the London Ravens, Seattle Surge, and Florida Mutineers to get to the lower bracket finals, where they will face the Boston Breach, the team that eliminated them in the first round. Despite the odds, LA made it to the Grand Finals, however, their joy was short-lived as the team was defeated 250-135 by Atlantic FaZe on the opening map of the best-of-nine series.

The Los Angeles Guerrillas were already under pressure since it was their first appearance in the CDL finals, and Atlanta added to it by taking a 1-0 lead after the first round. Los Angeles stubbornly refused to let Atlanta FaZe maintain any momentum during the second round and tied the series 1-1.

Round after round, LA established their dominance in the game, and by round five, they were up 4-1, leaving team Atlanta with little prospect of catching up. Guerrillas shattered the CDL record for most consecutive SnD wins, which had previously been held by FaZe, with nine.

However, Atlanta FaZe made valiant efforts to resist the overpowered LA but it wasn’t just their day and neither was the championship. Even though they won the following round 6-2, Atlanta Faze lost the series and the finals 5-2 in the seventh round, Berlin Search and Destroy.
