Giants and NRG remain alive in VCT Champions 2023

The emotions of the last tournament of this VCT season, the VALORANT Champions 2023, continue, and the teams are still fighting for their place in the playoffs. In the last one played in the Group Stage, we observed how Giants and NRG got victories against KRÜ Esports and ZETA Division to stay alive in the tournament.

As a result, both Giants and NRG will have to play the Decider Match to fight for the last playoff spot in their respective groups. On the other hand, it is worth mentioning that KRÜ Esports and ZETA Division are leaving VALORANT Champions 2023 without winning a single match, so their participation was more than disappointing.

Giants beat KRÜ 2-0 to stay alive in the tournament

The day’s first match left us with an excellent victory for Giants against KRÜ Esports by 2-0 to advance to the Decider Match, where they will play for the ticket to the playoffs against EDward Gaming. On the other hand, KRÜ said goodbye to VALORANT Champions without winning a single match, so now they will have to wipe the slate clean and start preparing for VCT 2024.

It all started in Lotus, the map pick of KRÜ Esports, where the South American squad started very strong on their attacking side and could take a partial victory by 7-5. However, at the change of sides, Giants could react and, with a very aggressive offense, they managed to take an excellent victory by 13-10.

Then, in the second map, Pearl, things were very similar, as we enjoyed a balanced game with chances for both teams. In the first half, we saw how Giants could stop KRÜ’s offenses in 7 opportunities and ended with a partial victory by 7-5. Then, the South American squad reacted to the change of sides and could equalize the score by 12-12 to send the map to Overtime. Finally, after two rounds in Overtime, Giants took the victory by 14-12 and thus managed to stay alive, for now, in the VALORANT Champions 2023.

NRG destroy ZETA Division

The second match of the day in Los Angeles left us with a spectacular victory by NRG against ZETA Division by 2-0. Although the first map was very balanced, and any of the two teams could have won, in the second one, the North American team took a step forward to end all the hopes of their rivals.

It all started in Bind, the map pick of ZETA Division, where we could enjoy a match of the highest level in the competitive scenario of VALORANT. In the first half, ZETA Division had the determination to stop NRG’s attacks and take a narrow 7-5 partial victory. Then, at the change of sides, NRG woke up on their defensive side to even the score 12-12 and sent the match to Overtime. Finally, after four rounds in Overtime, NRG took the win 15-13.

The teams then moved to Haven, NRG’s map pick, where the American squad gave a real lecture. NRG dominated so much that the ZETA Division boys could win only one round in the match. As a result, NRG takes a resounding and spectacular 13-1 victory to stay alive in the VCT Champions 2023. In addition, it is worth noting that NRG will play the playoffs against Bilibili Gaming in the Decider Match of Group C.
