G2 Gozen are the winners of VCT 2023 Game Changers EMEA Series 2

The VCT 2023 Game Changers EMEA Series 2 is history, and we have, for the second consecutive tournament, the G2 Gozen girls won the championship trophy. As a result, in addition to being the queens of Europe, they won a €10,000 prize and qualified for the VCT 2023 Game Changers EMEA Series 3.

Undoubtedly, it was a truly spectacular tournament, in which, during the 27 days it lasted, we witnessed intense and exciting matches. On the other hand, it is worth noting that G2 Gozen could not lead Group A of this tournament, but they still showed their full potential in the playoffs to be crowned champions.

On the other hand, it is worth mentioning the tournament played by the girls of FÜT Female since they had to play for their lives from the beginning of the playoffs in the Lower Bracket. This means the girls did not have two chances like those teams in the Upper Bracket. In addition, FÜT left BBL Queens and Acend Rising, two very powerful teams in the VALORANT Game Changers scene, on the road.

G2 Gozen’s path in the VCT 2023 Game Changers EMEA Series 2

The VCT 2023 Game Changers EMEA Series 2 Group Stage did not go as the girls dreamed, as they finished in second place in Group A with a 5-2 record. The G2 girls’ losses were to KPI Shine (Group A leaders) and unexpectedly to Alliance.Coven.

Then, in the playoffs, they crushed Case Hydra 2-0 and BBL Queens 2-1 in the Upper Bracket semifinals. Finally, G2 Gozen took an excellent 2-1 win over Acend Rising in the Upper Bracket final to qualify for the tournament’s Grand Final.

G2 Gozen vs. FÜT Female – Game Recap

The Grand Final was interesting, but with G2 Gozen dominating the action throughout.

It all started in Fracture, G2’s map pick, where we had an intense and exciting match, as it had to be defined in Overtime. G2 Gozen started the match very well and took a tight partial victory in the first half by 7-5. Then, at the change of sides, FÜT Female woke up, and with an excellent defense, they managed to equalize the score 12-12. Finally, in Overtime, the G2 girls managed to win both rounds to take the victory by 14-12.

Then, in the second map, Lotus, G2 Gozen had everything in their favor to take the victory. After an excellent 9-3 in the first half, the girls managed to win the remaining rounds to take the 13-6 victory and move to within one win of being champions.

In the third map, Pearl, the Turkish squad woke up to spice up the series and managed to win. In the first half, they achieved an excellent partial score of 8-4, which they completed at the change of sides with an excellent offense to take the victory by 13-10.

Finally, in Haven, we watched as G2 Gozen completely crushed FÜT Female. In the first half, the G2 girls managed a partial victory emphatically by 10-2. Then, the Turks could not do much more at the change of sides and fell by 3-13.
