The popular European esports organization, G2 Esports, has announced its new women’s Rocket League team, G2 LUNA.

This is nothing more than a new foray into the women’s esports scene by G2 Esports; as we all know, the team has its women’s division of VALORANT, League of Legends, and CS:GO.

There is no doubt that this news is positive for women’s esports, as we are seeing more and more organizations deciding to venture into this world. In addition, the fact that G2 Esports has four women’s teams firmly demonstrates the support that such a large organization has for this scene that, without a doubt, has been forgotten in the history of esports.

G2 Esports announces its all-female Rocket League lineup – G2 LUNA

Through a statement on its Twitter account, G2 Esports announced the creation of G2 LUNA, its women’s Rocket League team, which will compete in the NA region.

According to the official release, this new lineup is fully prepared to participate in all A-Level events in women’s competitions. In addition, it is emphasized that all three players signed by G2 LUNA have extensive experience in the game and, above all, compete professionally. As a result, the organization expects them to fight for all regional titles in NA.

The G2 LUNA lineup is as follows:

  • Gio “Avenger” Sy
  • Jamie “Karma” Bickford
  • Carlee “KIAA” Eichhorst

Let’s meet the players

Let’s start with Avenger, who was part of the Flashes of Brilliance women’s lineup for the 2021 season. However, the player decided to leave the team at the beginning of the 2022 season, so she has remained without being part of any organization all this time.

On the other hand, Karma has been away from the professional Rocket League scene for about a year. However, she is a player who has a lot of experience to bring to this lineup. Karma has been a part of more than ten teams since her pro debut 2016, and so far, she’s racked up $36,000 in tournament earnings. While this player is known for participating in many RLCS tournaments in NA, we have also seen her as an analyst and commentator in different European events in 2023.

Finally, we have KIAA, a player who, along with Avenger, was part of the Canadian national team at the Commonwealth Games Esports Championship 2022. This girl has a lot of experience as a player but has not yet shown her potential in top-level tournaments.

What other teams have Rocket League women’s division?

While this scene is not much named, different well-known teams such as Williams Resolve, Endpoint CeX, and Gen.G have their female Rocket League teams. Furthermore, this decision to include female lineups, no matter what video game it is, has only one goal: to make esports more inclusive.

The RLCS is allowed to compete regardless of the gender of the players; no doubt, having a women’s league can help many more girls who are undoubtedly very talented to reach the top in the competitive scene of Rocket League.
