There is no doubt that what Fnatic has just achieved is impressive because if we analyze their start of the season, no one could have thought, much less assured, that the team would have one foot inside the Worlds 2023. However, the historic name of Fnatic and the talent of its players made the impossible possible, as they defeated Excel Esports in the semifinals of the Lower Bracket of the LEC Season Finals to secure their place in the TOP 4 of the tournament.

As a result, Fnatic secured, at least, their place in the Worlds 2023 playoff (4th place). The tournament is still in full swing, and they now have the chance to qualify for the main tournament directly if they beat Team BDS in the Lower Bracket semifinals.

Now, we have the miracle of Berlin turning into the miracle of Korea as, after a disappointing start to the season, Fnatic is unexpectedly extending its season.

Fnatic beats Excel Esports to secure their place in the TOP 4 of the LEC Season Finals 2023

The British squad defeated Excel Esports to advance to the semifinals of the Lower Bracket and secure their place in the TOP 4 of the tournament. In addition, with this 3-2 victory, Fnatic also seals its ticket to Korea, either to play the main event or in the playoff. Finally, everything depends on the result of the match between the Black & Orange squad and Team BDS to be played on September 2.

There is no doubt that this season has been one of ups and downs and a real odyssey for Fnatic. In the Winter Split, the team failed to qualify for the LEC Group Stage, which became the first time ever in the organization’s history. Then, the team improved its performance in the spring season after changing some players, but they failed in the Group Stage.

Finally, the team woke up in the Summer Split, reaching the Lower Bracket Final, but, at that moment, they lost precisely to Excel Esports by 1-3. However, the team got the necessary points to qualify for the LEC Season Finals and thus fight for their pass to Worlds 2023.

Fnatic comes from behind in an agonizing game

Undoubtedly, the match between Fnatic and Excel Esports was one of much suffering and many emotions, but, above all, agonizing. However, these adjectives perfectly describe the 2023 season of Fnatic, who do not stop having a lot of emotions in every match they play.

Oscar “Oscarinin” Muñoz had a spectacular first game for Fnatic and achieved an excellent victory in 29 minutes and 38 seconds. The Spaniard shined with Gwen and closed the first game with an excellent Pentakill.

However, the Spaniard has an injury in one of his hands, so he could not shine the same way in the rest of the matches. As a result, Excel Esports took the lead in the series after winning matches 2 and 3. Patrik “Patrik” Jírů showed a mind-blowing level of play and led his team to victory in matches 2 and 3, forcing Fnatic to return to the series in the last two games.

In the fourth match, Ivan “Razork” Martin with Taliyah displayed a spectacular game that, together with Marek “Humanoid” Brázda, destroyed Excel to tie the series 2-2.

Finally, Fnatic gave the final blow in the last match, although it was complicated and extremely hard work; Adrian “Trymbi” Trybus with Nautilus and Felix “Abbedagge” Braun with Ahri were in charge of giving the victory to the Orange squad.
