Optic Texas clinched the Call of Duty League’s first Major of the season. After a 5-2 victory over Atlanta FaZe today, OpTic Texas reaffirmed their status as the top team in the world. The new Optic Texas roster won the championship title in their debut tournament.

FaZe thrashed  London Royal by 3-1 victory in the Finals of the loser bracket to finally meet Optic Texas. The match began on Gavutu, a map that both sides were familiar with. OpTic, who had been down 2-1 to FaZe the day before, played Gavutu Hardpoint flawlessly and put on a spectacular show for the crowd.

They used the same formula to thoroughly beat Atlanta on Gavutu, with both iLLeY and Shotzzy dominating the first round with a  K/D of 1.64 and 1.69, respectively. Their spectacular individual performance and synergized play of the team helped them secure an early 1-0 lead.

ABeZy, who had zero kills in their previous game against OpTic earlier in the competition, came back strong with a 13-7 performance. He led team FaZe to victory, bringing the series to a 1-1 tie.

Optic started Gavutu control with domination and quickly took a map lead of 2-0.FaZe tried to fight back and won two back-to-back rounds to equalize, but OpTic didn’t take long to respond and the team clinched the fifth round to secure a 2 -1 lead over Faze.

ILLeY performed magnificently on the Tuscan Hardpoint in map four. ILLeY with a 35-23 statline helped the team to overcome a late deficit and win the round to take a 3-1 lead on FaZe.

After dropping two consecutive maps, they bounced back with an impressive 6-3 victory on Tuscan SnD to pull within a map in the series. But in the next round, it was OpTic’s turn to win Tuscan but this time with control.

So close but yet so far, team Atlanta FaZe

OpTic Texas, the team that remained unbeaten in the playoffs is one step away from the title. They needed to win an SnD after losing the first two of the series. On the other hand, team Atlanta Faze, who reached the finals winning three consecutive matches, seemed disappointing.

Berlin turned out to be the final map for the series. Despite the fantastic start by team FaZe in the map, the team failed to hold the lead. After falling behind 3-4, Texas iced up and gained the momentum they needed to finish the game.

They won the final round of the map and secured their first major victory since CWL Las Vegas in 2018.
The hard work of Optic texas rewarded them with a much-needed championship title

Optic Nerve seems to be struggling in the crucial matches and couldn’t land any championship titles. The team was desperately looking for a big breakthrough but struggled a lot against overpowered teams like Atlanta and the Toronto Ultra throughout the season.

Many believed that the formation of OpTic Texas, with its current lineup of Scump, Dashy, Shotzzy, and iLLeY, would be the squad to break through and bring the championship. They didn’t get off to the best start to the season, losing back-to-back rounds.

However, they progressively improved and gained momentum, and for the first time since the league’s debut in 2020, this version of OpTic appears to be the top team in the Call of Duty League.

Optic gaming’s Scump and Dashy clinched the title from Faze aBeZy and Arcitys, again.

In the 2018 CWL Las Vegas grand finals, two players of OpTic Gaming, Scump, and Dashy, faced off against the eUnited squad led by aBeZy and Arcitys. After OpTic defeated eUnited to take home the championship, Dashy was awarded MVP of the tournament.

The history repeated again in the CDL final, Scump and Dashy paired up again in an exciting battle against Team FaZe. For aBezy and Arcity, it was the second time Scump and Dashy shattered their dream to win the championship title.
