Everything we know about VALORANT Agent 20

The next VALORANT agent with the number 20 that probably will be an initiator, was recntly announced by Riot Character Producer John Goscicki. Furthermore, there is also already an image with hints about the new agent. You can find all the information here.

Will the new agent be able to hold a candle to Sova?

Sova has been the best Gathering Agent since VALORANT’s release. His pick rate in ranked and pro play has remained constant, largely due to the fact that his kit is irreplaceable. No other agent is able to provide so much information to his teammates as Sova. There are other initiators, such as Skye and Kay-O, but their kits are not based as much on gathering information.

Now comes a new agent who can probably hold a candle to Sova. John Goscicki stated there will soon be an archetype initiator similar to Sova. What will make him different from Sova is not entirely clear, but the developer said that in terms of gameplay style it will probably be much more “personal and intimate.”

“There have been many conversations within the character team about initiators, especially Sova. His abilities are unique in that they rely on exploration and gathering information to give you and the team tools to decide the next step. A lot of VALORANT is about having the right information.”

“If you know where your enemies are or are not and you use that information to your advantage, then you basically already hold the key to success. John Goscicki also said, “So the idea of another agent that revolves around the intelligence gathering aspect of the tactical loop has been of great importance to us for some time.”

According to Goscicki’s wording, this is an agent who will be involved with information gathering in the game. What exactly that meant, I guess we’ll have to wait to find out. Apparently, though, it seems that the development team has created someone that will influence the beginning of a round.

“Our focus from the beginning has been on identifying unique gameplay differences in the reconnaissance/information area, and we’ve ended up in an area that offers more ‘localized’ initiation and reconnaissance tools,” John Goscicki said. As with other agents, we got another clue before their unveiling. A picture shows a steaming cup of coffee, a screen with information and what looks like Turkish sweets. Will our new agent perhaps come from Turkey or the Middle East?
