Group B of the ESL Pro League S18 is history, and we have ENCE continuing to demonstrate their excellent level of play at this point in the season; they scored an excellent 2-1 victory over BIG in the Grand Final. As a result, the international squad takes the honors in Group B and, in addition, secures their direct ticket to the quarterfinals in the playoffs of this ESL Pro League S18.

There is no doubt that this is just another proof that everything ENCE has done so far is not a coincidence. Moreover, the team had to work and fight very hard during the first half of the season to reach the level they are at today. On the other hand, we cannot forget BIG either; the German squad reached the Group B Grand Final against all odds, and now, they qualified for the Round of 12 (Second Round) of the tournament playoffs.

In addition, we had an intense Group B, full of emotions and surprises, as let’s remember that the favorite, Heretics, won only one game and was unexpectedly eliminated. In what is presumed to be the last CS:GO tournament at the professional level, we had a very nice fight between several teams to be at the top of the podium.

Now, let’s see what happened in the match between ENCE and BIG for the final of Group B of the ESL Pro League S18.

ENCE beat BIG by 2-1

We expected an intense and exciting series, and the teams did not disappoint. From start to finish, both ENCE and BIG showed us a mind-blowing level of play, and thanks to that, we enjoyed 3 exceptional maps. However, in the end, ENCE had more determination to get a very good 2-1 victory.

The series took place on Ancient, Anubis, and Vertigo.

Ancient

It all started at Ancient, BIG’s map pick, where we watched as ENCE’s Alvaro “SunPayus” Garcia and Guy “NertZ” Iluz put the team on their backs to lead them to an excellent victory. In the first half, things were very even, as ENCE managed to take a partial victory by 8-7. However, things changed radically at the change of sides, as ENCE won 8 of the 10 rounds that were played to take the victory by 16-9.

Anubis

Next, the teams moved to Anubis, ENCE’s map pick, where things changed drastically for the European international squad. This time, the Germans started the map with everything on their T-side and, thanks to the performance of David “prosus” Hesse and Johannes “tabseN” Wodarz, managed to take a 10-5 partial victory. Then, at the change of sides, ENCE woke up and came very close to equalizing the score, even getting 14-14 on the scoreboard. However, BIG was able to react at the end to win the last two rounds and even the series 1-1.

Vertigo

Finally, we move to Vertigo, the decider map of this Group B Grand Final, where the ENCE boys showed all their potential to take a great victory. ENCE started extremely strong in the first half and took a solid 11-4 partial victory. Then, at the change of sides, BIG woke up and started winning rounds and getting dangerously close on the scoreboard, but ENCE’s defense did their homework and managed to lead the team to a 16-11 victory.
