In this summer break transfer market for players, many teams are making drastic decisions to try to right their course in the second half of the year. However, one organization looks set to make a completely unexpected turn, Evil Geniuses.

According to the latest reports, Evil Geniuses is considering replacing their entire roster with their EG Black team, which competes in Tier 2 and 3 tournaments. Furthermore, this move would be with the mission of playing the BLAST Premier Fall Groups, which will be played the second week of July.

Evil Geniuses would promote EG Black to its main CS:GO team

According to a report from Dust2.us, the North American organization Evil Geniuses is reportedly planning to promote its EG Black squad to the main CS:GO team.

Recently, many rumors surfaced on social networks, placing five players on EG’s radar for restructuring its lineup. We are talking about the likes of Denis “electroNic” Sharipov, Ilya “Perfecto” Zalutskiy, Aleksandr “zorte” Zagodyrenko, Jonathan “EliGE” Jablonowski, and Audric “JACKZ” Jug.

However, these moves seem to be completely ruled out now, and the team’s only solution is to upgrade its EG Black squad.

The report details that the organizations had verbal agreements with all the aforementioned players, but surprisingly, the organization did not complete the deal. As a result, the players were surprised after learning that EG would not follow through with their signings.

Autimatic is the mainstay of Evil Geniuses

While it is true that the organization plans to promote EG Black to its main team, the only player who would remain with the team is Timothy “autimatic” Ta. Recall that on many occasions, it has been stated that autimatic is the mainstay of this team.

If this move is completed, EG’s lineup will look as follows:

  • Autimatic
  • Colby “Walco” Walsh
  • Jeorge “Jeorge” Endicott
  • Paytyn “junior” Johnson
  • Jadan “HexT” Postma

While it is true that BLAST has already locked down the rosters of the teams that will participate in the Fall Groups come July 13, 2023, teams can still make changes. However, this would make, in this case, Evil Geniuses the worst ranked of the event, i.e., it will be “the worst seed” in all crossings. It should be noted that this is described in point 6.5.2.1 of the official BLAST Premier rules.

EG is ranked 54th in the CS:GO world ranking according to HLTV and is undoubtedly the worst-ranked team that will play the BLAST Premier Fall Groups.

All that remains is to stay tuned for official information from Evil Geniuses regarding their lineup for the Fall Groups and their main CS:GO team.
