Dota 2 patch 7.35b is full of excellent heroes for the support position. But some of them are vastly more successful than others. In this guide, I’ll present three of them.

Witch Doctor

Witch Doctor is one of the most picked heroes in Dota 2 right now. You will encounter him in almost a quarter of your matches and ideally, he should be on your team.

This hero can destroy entire enemy lineups using a combination of Maledict, Paralyzing Cask, and Death Ward. In particular, the last of these three abilities is powerful at every stage of the game because it deals pure damage in high amounts. By the time you’re level 12, it already deals 100 damage per tick and the number of ticks per second is very high.

Any enemy that gets trapped even for a few seconds will die. To enable this kind of setup, Witch Doctor is best picked in combination with long-duration disablers like Shadow Shaman or Faceless Void.

Vengeful Spirit

Vengeful Spirit will compromise the position of an enemy or save an ally when they are surrounded by enemies. The range of this ability is 800 – 1100 and the damage is 150 – 450. If an ally is swapped, you and that ally will gain a damage barrier equal to the same amount.

Being able to swap targets from such a long distance guarantees that your smoke ganks will be successful. All you need to do is swap a target, use your Magic Missle, continue with Wave of Terror to decrease its armor by 6 and then attack. If enough allies are nearby, there is almost nothing that the enemy team can do to stop your combination.

Because Dota 2 is a game in which the team that strikes first usually wins if the networth is equal, Vengeful Spirit is a highly sought-after hero and her pick rate in Dota 2 patch 7.35b is nearly 15%.

Oracle

Oracle is the perfect support for situations in which you have a high-damage core that can be easily killed, but could kill the entire enemy team if kept alive for long enough. Examples include Phantom Assassin, Anti-Mage, Huskar, and Terrorblade. These heroes greatly benefit from Oracle’s False Promise, which lasts for 7 – 10s.

Furthermore, if the target is healed enough times during this duration, they will most likely get out alive even if they’re surrounded by enemies.
