Details of Ranked mode in Modern Warfare 2

With just one day to go before the long-awaited and highly anticipated Season 2 update for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 arrives, all players are looking forward to trying out all the new features that will be coming to both titles.

In Modern Warfare 2, the developers have announced a new game mode, “Ranked,” for Season 2. There is no doubt that this is one of the features that the community has liked the most, as it is the first time that a title of the CoD saga will have a Ranked mode.

On the other hand, Activision has also decided to add new rewards for those players in Ranked mode. This will undoubtedly increase the level of play of each player in the multiplayer mode since, in this mode, they will be able to demonstrate all their skills and abilities.

Ranked mode in Modern Warfare 2

The Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone 2 Season 2 update is scheduled to arrive on February 15, 2023. This patch will include many changes to both titles, new weapons, packs, cosmetics, game modes, challenges, and new maps.

Activision revealed that Ranked mode would be coming to the second season of Modern Warfare 2. After Treyarch fully partnered with Infinity Ward for the second season update, all of this happened.

The developers decided to work alongside the Call of Duty League to create a “unique and genuine” experience for players based on the Call of Duty Vanguard ranked play system.

There is no doubt that this Ranked game mode is an excellent competitive experience in CoD. As is the case in other video games such as CS:GO and VALORANT, two teams of four players in this game mode will fight for victory. In addition, the basic rules of this game mode are explicitly based on the CDL, which will test all players.

General features of Ranked mode in MWII

First, players will have weapon and accessory restrictions until they reach level 16. From then on, the battle will become much stronger, and only the most prepared will win. Activision does this with the mission of ensuring a completely balanced playing field.

Skill Divisions in Ranked mode in MWII

We will have different “Skill Ratings” or SR in Ranked mode games. This will determine the rank of each player. This new mode brings with it eight skill divisions which will be available from the launch of MWII season 2.

• Bronze – 0-899 SR
• Silver – 900-2099 PR
• Gold – 2,100-3,599 SR
• Platinum – 3,600-5,399 SR
• Diamond – 5,400-7,499 SR
• Crimson -7,500-9,999 SR
• Iridescent – Minimum 10,000 SR
• Top 250 – 10,000+ SR

In these ranks, SR will be rewarded to players who win matches and subtracted from those who lose. The individual player’s performance will be considered in the lower ranks. However, increasing ranks will prioritize team performance and winning the game rather than individual performance.

In this mode, players will face other players who, in theory, have a similar level. All this is so that there is a balance in the games and that players can enjoy each one.
