CS2 is now available for everyone

After several months of high expectations, rumors, and much more information, we can say It’s here! Last September 27, 2023, we said goodbye to our beloved CS:GO and officially welcomed Counter-Strike 2 with open arms.

As promised by Valve, CS2 was released as a new free CS: GO update, but we had to wait no less than 7 months. However, now that it is with us, the game is already CS2 on Steam, and all players worldwide can access it for download.

Valve officially announces the release of CS2

Through a post on its Twitter/X account, Valve officially announced the release of CS2 last September 27, 2023, evening hours (CEST).

The community, players, and teams have anticipated this moment for the past 7 months, but all the rumors increased after Valve hinted at a September 27 release. However, many in the community thought that, once again, it was a joke on the part of the game developers, but they were wrong, as the game is already available to everyone.

All players with an active Steam account can access the store and search for CS2 to start testing all the changes the game brought with it during the beta phase.

How to download CS2?

Downloading CS2 is a really simple process that, without a doubt, anyone can do.

• First, you need to have a Steam account and, of course, the application downloaded on your PC.
• Then, log in to your account or, failing that, create a new one.
• If you have CS:GO on your PC, when you open Steam, an automatic download will appear, as if it were a regular game update, but this is the CS:GO update to CS2.
• Otherwise, if you don’t have CS:GO installed, go to the Steam store and type CS2 in the search bar. Then, go to its standalone page and start the download.
• Once it is downloaded and installed, start enjoying the new CS2.

Remember that CS2 is a free game, so anyone with a Steam account can play it for free. As a result, players don’t need to pay for the game; they will only have to download the update or download the game from 0.

Likewise, you can upgrade your CS2 to Prime mode to access some exclusive game advantages, such as playing with players exclusive to this mode. This will help you to have a cleaner and safer gaming experience.

Besides that, you can already play in Competitive Matchmaking mode; that is, we can already start our way to Global Elite on the different maps of the official CS2 Map Pool.

Finally, it is also fair to mention that the regional and world rankings of the CS2 Premier mode were completely reset. As a result, the first season of CS2 has officially begun.
