CS Asia Championships has begun and we’ve already seen two of the best European teams, ENCE and Astralis, making quick work of the Asian competitors. Neither TYLOO nor Lynn Vision didn’t put up much of a fight in the opening matches.

These two best-of-one battles ended with decisive scores: 13-7 (for ENCE against TYLOO) and 13-4 (for Astralis against Lynn Vision).

Opening matches

In the match between ENCE and TYLOO, NertZ single-handedly carried his team to victory and finished with a rating 2.0 of 2.0! That’s off-the-charts and unbelievably rare. Meanwhile, TYLOO also had one player who was head and shoulders above the rest: Moseyuh, who ended the match with a rating 2.0 of 1.53.

Astralis didn’t have any problems against LVG, largely thanks to the performance of blameF and Staehr. The first of these two players had a score of 24 K – 5 D and a rating 2.0 of 2.27! It’s absolutely unbelievable how good some CS2 players can be in the best-of-one format. Device, with his 12 K – 8 D was only the third-best member of his squad.

Winners match

In the winners match, between ENCE and Astralis, the Danes proved to be significantly stronger.  They won the first and the third map with a dominant score: 2-13. The second map was lost at a reasonable score: 13-10. This clearly shows that Astralis are now one of the favorites in this race.

What surprised everyone in this match was the fact that four Astralis players performed exceptionally well, ending with a KD difference between +11 and +18. Once again, the best player on the server was blameF, who is quickly becoming one of the world’s best.

Elimination match

In the elimination between the two Asian teams, Lynn Vision proved to be just a bit stronger. The scores were 13-10 on Overpass, 11-13 on Anubis, and 11-13 on Nuke.

Thanks to this result, Lynn Vision will get to compete in the playoffs and see how far they can go. Most likely, they will get eliminated in their first match. But even if that happens, they’ve still done well at this tournament and should be optimistic about the future.

The best player on the server was Jee, who finished with a score of 51-36. On both teams, all players did reasonably well. But the question is how well they will do when faced with a European opponent.
