Crazy Raccoon drop out of ALGS Championship 2023

However, the team bounced back this season and managed to qualify for the ALGS Championship 2023 through the LCQ tournament, but again they are the bearers of bad news.

Crazy Raccoon withdraws from the last tournament of the season

Last August 19, Crazy Raccoon announced through a post on their Twitter account its withdrawal from the ALGS Championship 2023 despite having qualified through LCQ.

In the statement, the organization mentions that Song “Ras” Hong-gyun, the IGL of Crazy Raccoon since the 2020 season, must perform mandatory military service in his country. As a result, after a long meeting between all team members, they decided to leave the ALGS Championship.

After translating the official statement from Crazy Raccoon, Ras received the call for compulsory military service some time ago. As a result, the team’s IGL will not be able to continue in the team’s lineup for a while. In addition, it is also worth mentioning that Ras was under intense stress in training in recent weeks, which affected his health and, of course, his performance on the servers.

About Ras

Everyone in the Apex Legends community knows Ras’ skills and qualities, especially since he is among the most popular players in APAC-N and South Korea. Since the arrival of Apex, Ras became part of Team MVP soon after he was named one of the founding members of Crazy Raccoon in 2020.

Since then, Ras became the team’s IGL and, of course, the most important player in the lineup. In addition, Crazy Raccoon has dominated the ALGS APAC-N scene several times and even qualified for the ALGS Championship 2021.

However, Crazy Raccoon could not display their best level of play this season, and they were left out of all the contested international events. As a result, the team did not score the necessary points to qualify directly for the ALGS Championship 2023, so they had to play the LCQ, where they got their ticket.

Crazy Raccoon could play with only two players in the ALGS Championship 2023

Although Ras will not be able to play in the tournament, the team may have decided to play with only two players in the 2023 ALGS Championship, as they currently do not have an alternate player on their roster. However, out of respect for Ras, the team decided to drop out of the tournament to fulfill the Korean star’s wishes.

We must wait for EA’s or Respawn’s decision regarding the team that could replace Crazy Raccoon in the ALGS Championship 2023. It may be a team directly from the APAC-N that participated in the LCQ.
