Many rumors have surfaced about CLG, where it is said that the organization has been sold and left its brand’s legacy in LoL in limbo. In addition, it is rumored that CLG may be on the verge of leaving esports now.
In the near future, one of America’s most illustrious LoL organizations may cease to exist. We are talking about Counter Logic Gaming or better known as CLG. According to rumors, a wave of massive layoffs is expected to occur in the organization.
The crisis esports is experiencing does not differentiate nations; lately, three major organizations, FaZe Clan, Heroic, and Astralis, have been in a terrible economic crisis and now join the CLG group.
CLG is reportedly close to exiting the esports scene
According to information revealed in a YouTube video by well-known LoL reporter Travis Gafford a few hours ago, CLG’s parent company, The Madison Square Garden Company, is leaving the organization.
CLG debuted in 2010, and in 2017, specifically on July 31, The Madison Square Garden Company purchased a majority stake in the organization.
In the video posted by Travis Gafford, Travis Gafford claims that he has communicated with members of CLG’s staff; these individuals have revealed information to him about the organization’s closure. As a result, a wave of massive layoffs will likely occur starting this week.
On the other hand, Gafford also claims that CGL could be following in TSM’s footsteps by leaving the competitive LoL scene.
Will CLG’s staff remain active through 2023?
This is one of the questions that has arisen following recent information about CLG. So far, it appears that the organization will continue to participate in this year’s schedule; the team’s players and coaching staff are in the preparation phase for the summer tournaments.
Unfortunately, CLG’s last run will be in the upcoming Summer Championship.
Who could replace CLG after they departed from the LCS?
As reported by Travis Gafford, NRG Esports are the favored candidates to replace CLG after they depart from the LCS; this information is based on what their sources tell them.
NRG Esports, for those unfamiliar with it, is a team that debuted in 2016 in the LCS and is based in Los Angeles. However, shortly after the team’s debut, it was kicked out of the league.
On the other hand, considering the departure of two of the most important organizations in the LCS, veteran fans feel nostalgic after this two news.
