Rising star player from the Spirit Academy team, Danil “donk” Kryshkovets smashed BIG’s main roster at the CCT West Europe Series #1 with a rating of 1.58.
The elimination match between BIG and Spirit Academy didn’t go well for the German team. The Eastern European team is led by 16-year-old donk and won the best-of-three series after just two maps. The Russian prodigy had 54 kills and a 1.23 HLTV ranking for the past few months. We have summarized the matches for you here!
Spirit Academy impresses with young talents
The Spirit Academy team has cut a true diamond with donk. He has recently caught the attention of the scene after being invited to the FPL by FACEIT. Before him, only one player of a similar age came into the FPL — the prodigy from the talent factory of NaVi Junior Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov, who now plays for G2. Will he be the next Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostylev?
Not only donk, but also his young teammates were able to shine against BIG. Every Spirit Academy player had a better rating than the BIG players. With their elimination, BIG exit the tournament in 9th-16th place, and Spirit Academy advance to the quarterfinals of the $50,000 event.

BIG get into the game too late
The first map was played on BIG’s Pick Anubis. In the first half, BIG were able to get six rounds, while Spirit Academy had a three-round lead. But after the change, BIG’s performance dropped and they only managed to win three more rounds. Most notably, Spirit’s Oleg “baaaaZzz” Kulynych was able to impress on this map by getting three kills with the AK, two of which were headshots. With seven rounds won in the second half, the first map went to Spirit Academy with a score of 16:9.
On Overpass, BIG had a better run despite only winning five rounds in the first half. With a lead of five rounds, the first half again went to Spirit. But after the change of sides, BIG finally showed what they’re made of. Johannes “tabseN” Wodarz was able to help out his team with a 1v4 clutch and Karim “Krimbo” Moussa also managed a 1v4 clutch in the pre-plant. But unfortunately, it was already too late for the German team and the second map went back to Spirit Academy with a score of 16:12.
What a remarkable performance by the Spirit junior team!
