Last weekend, the qualifiers for the CDL Major IV started, where all the teams played one or two games, but that doesn’t mean everyone is happy with what they have seen.

In the mini-dead season between Major III and IV, we have seen many changes in different lineups, and, this time, Boston Breach decides to replace Vivid with Kremp, an academy player.

However, this is not the first case of an academy player joining the pro team. Ulisess “Uli” Rios was signed by the London Royal Ravens from the “Decimates” team, which belongs to the COD Challenger league.

Boston Breach announces Kremp to replace Vivid

Before starting the second week of the Major IV qualifiers, Boston Breach announced that Kyle “Kremp” Haworth, the team’s academy player, will replace Reece “Vivid” Drost.

Following this, the Breach announced that Vivid would move into a replacement role.

Boston Breach has a 1-1 record so far in Major IV qualifiers, as they beat Toronto Ultra and fell to Las Vegas Legion. However, Vivid so far had one of the lowest K/D of the team.

On the other hand, we cannot overlook that Vivid is considered one of the fastest SMGs in the entire CDL. So much so that many community members disagreed with this move made by the Breach. In addition, many have posted different statistics reflecting how positive Vivid has been for the team.

About Kremp

Now, talking about the player they have promoted to the starting lineup, we can highlight that Kremp has a K/D of 1.07 this season in the Challengers division of the CDL.

On the other hand, this player arrives with morale and confidence sky high, as the Boston Breach Academy team finished within the TOP 3 in the last tournaments they played.

Is this change a success for the Breach?

According to many in the community, this change has not been right for the team because, as we mentioned, Vivid is one of the best SMGs in the league. However, this change likely is what Breach are looking for to have a more competitive and balanced team. In addition, the team also wants to be ready enough to be one of the contenders for the championship title in the main event.

Kremp will debut with the Breach in this second week of the CDL Major IV Qualifiers when he takes on London Royal Ravens next April 7, 2023, at 21:00 CEST. This seems like an ideal scenario for Kremp’s CDL debut, as the Royan Ravens have not shown enough play to worry the big teams.
