The Roobet Cup 2023 continues in full swing, and the teams are already playing their last matches of the Group Phase, so we are very close to starting the final phase or playoffs.

After FURIA and Virtus.pro qualified in Groups A and B, BIG and Monte did the same in Groups C and D to seal their tickets to the next phase. Both teams showed determination and great teamwork to achieve it, as they had to face very complicated opponents.

BIG played their matches against 9INE and Apeks, while Monte did the same against OG and NiP. As a result, both teams are comfortably in the tournament’s Quarterfinals.

Let’s see what happened in these Winner’s Matches for BIG and Monte in the Roobet Cup 2023.

BIG complete an excellent victory over 9INE by 2-1

9INE and BIG gave us a spectacular series that had to be defined in 3 maps, and one of them was through several rounds of Overtime. In one way or another, both teams showed us an excellent level of play, especially in the first two maps.

It all started on Vertigo, BIG’s map pick, where the German squad prevailed despite the match’s tightness to take the victory by 13-11. In the first half, we enjoyed a spectacular distribution of rounds to score 5-7 in favor of BIG. Finally, at the change of sides, after 12 disputed rounds (6-6), BIG managed to take the narrow victory to start the series on the right foot.

Then, in Anubis, we witnessed an excellent game by both teams, which had to be defined in 18 Overtime rounds. In the first half, BIG took the partial victory by 7-5 for the second consecutive map. Then, at the change of sides, 9INE returned the punch, and, with a score of 7-5, they managed to tie the match 12-12. Finally, after 18 rounds in OT, Kacper “Kylar” Walukiewicz led the Poles to a 22-20 victory to even the series 1-1.

Finally, at Ancient, we enjoyed a Counter-Strike 2 lecture by the German squad as they took a crushing 13-0 victory. Johannes “tabseN” Wodarz, Elias “s1n” Stein, and Karim “Krimbo” Moussa displayed all their power to lead BIG to a comfortable victory in this third map and seal their qualification to the playoffs.

Monte apply a clean sweep against NiP

The Ukrainian squad continues to display excellent potential at the highest competitive level, and this time, they got a clean sweep against NiP to seal their ticket to the playoffs.

It all started in Overpass, NiP’s map pick, where we enjoyed a very balanced game in the first half, which ended with a partial score of 6-6. Then, we also enjoyed a lot of intensity and balance at the change of sides, but Monte could take the partial victory by 7-5 to secure the map by 13-11.

In the second map, Mirage, we also had a great game that had to be defined in OT. In the first half, Monte took a step forward in his T Side, thanks to Volodymyr “Woro2k” Veletniuk, to take the partial victory by 7-5. Then, at the change of sides, NiP hit back with a great offensive by Daniil “headtr1ck” Valitov to even the match 12-12. Finally, after 6 rounds in OT, Monte took the win 16-14 to complete the clean sweep to qualify for the tournament’s quarterfinals.
