The third day of the Berlin Major was full of superb matches, some of which have gone viral thanks to the memorable moments they contained.

We saw an unkillable Beastmaster against a Phantom Lancer and we also had the opportunity to watch Gaimin Gladiators winning yet again against their main WEU rival, Team Liquid. Right now, the situation in both groups is still very tense and a lot of things have not yet been decided.

We know that Execration and TSM are almost certainly going to be eliminated, and we also know that Gaimin Gladiators are likely to not only win group A but also remain undefeated in this first stage. Everything else is still a giant question mark.

Day 3 results

On the third day of ESL One Berlin Major, the best teams were Gaimin Gladiators, 9 Pandas, Shopify Rebellion, and Tundra Esports. All of them had perfect or nearly perfect matches on this day and have moved closer to securing an upper bracket spot in the playoffs.

Gladiators won both of their matches, 9 Pandas had a win against PSG.LGD and a draw versus BetBoom Team, Rebellion defeated SMG, and Tundra drew against OG after a victory against Talon Esports.

Unfortunately for Xtreme Gaming, they continue to struggle, even though they have the best roster in China and were the winners of Tour 2 in this region. The new Dota 2 patch seems to have ruined their strategies and it will take a while for them to figure out the new meta.

In Dota 2, if you don’t have an edge, you lose quite often even if you have highly talented players. The game is won through superior tactics and strategy. A weaker team that executes a superior strategy will beat a formidable team who doesn’t know how to play the game efficiently.

Team Liquid is struggling at the moment. On the third day of ESL One Berlin Major, they won against TSM but got defeated by Gladiators. With just three matches left to be played, they are ranked seventh in their group with just five points in five matches.

Fortunately for Liquid, the last three matches will be easier for them than the first five because the opponents are weaker. But that doesn’t guarantee their success. In principle, Michal “Nisha” Jankowski and his teammates should definitely qualify for the playoffs. But the bigger goal is to secure an upper bracket spot. And that will be hard.
