ATF joins Nigma Galaxy to fill Miracle-’s shoes

Nigma Galaxy has finally announced who will fill the spot of superstar carry Miracle- in their roster for the upcoming 2022-2023 DPC season — it’s none other than the former OG offlaner Ammar “ATF” Al-Assaf.

While most of the team have decided to stick around for the upcoming season, the team’s superstar carry Amer “Miracle-” Al-Barkawi will be taking a break citing health concerns, thus giving ATF a chance to play his favored role alongside Dota 2 veterans and TI champions. 

Youngest pioneer in DPC

Although he will be playing a new role in Nigma Galaxy, this wouldn’t be a problem as ATF is known to play pos 1 in Pubs since his OG days frequently. OG acquired the 16-year-old sensation from Division II team Creepwave back in November 2021 to play as an offlaner for the 2021-2022 DPC season.

ATF’s sudden rise to fame happened during his time with OG as he pioneered a new way to play offlane known as anti-carry. He would often play offlane heroes and build carry items on that offlane hero to transition into a carry as the match progresses. This playstyle would become a meta for a while.

However, he is also known for his in-game toxicity during official matches. When his team is dominating, he would often buy Mantle Of Intelligence and drop it in front of the enemy fountain before the enemy would concede the match. 

Results speak

Even though he was playing a new role during his OG days, he still managed to put on a marvelous performance. Within a year with the team, he helped OG secure multiple top finishes during the DPC season. When official LAN events returned after the DPC Tour 2, he helped OG to win its sixth Major Championship at the ESL One Stockholm and consistently secured top-place finishes at the tournaments that followed. He also helped OG win ESL One Malaysia before entering The International 2022. However, at The International 2022, the team only finished in 7th-8th place.

Other side of the coin

While ATF displayed strong performances as soon as he joined OG, a lot of people and players have come to notice that the player might have a weakness when it comes to micro heroes. During his time with OG, he never played a micro hero and during PUB matches, he even struggled in playing micro heroes.

Even though ATF has got some big shoes to fill yet again, fans are certain that with Miracle-’s help, he will be able to do so.
