Before the start of the Dota 2 roster shuffle season, there were some rumours about Miracle- taking a break from the scene. Yesterday, Nigma Galaxy has confirmed these rumours, moving the player to the team’s inactive roster for the upcoming season.
The only information that has been disclosed publicly was that Amer “Miracle-” Al-Barkawi plans to address his health issues.
Taking a break from the game he loves wasn't an easy decision, but it is an important step @NigmaMiracle chose to take to address his health condition. We fully support him and can't wait until he's ready to come back💙💜
We'll be releasing more details during the DPC. pic.twitter.com/dvMaPhuukL

Prodigy from the start
Miracle- started gaining a reputation in the European Dota 2 scene in 2015 as a PUB Star after being the only player to reach 8K MMR besides w33. It was Johan “N0tail” Sundstein who first gave him a chance at a newly founded team known as Monkey Business, which was later changed to OG.
Soon, Miracle- displayed marvelous performance during OG’s underdog run at the Frankfurt Major 2015, showcasing his versatile hero pool. His performance on Shadow Fiend became so iconic and unbeatable, that he quickly became a fan favourite and teams began to “respect ban” it in the Major. However, despite helping OG win two Majors and being the first player to reach 9K in the following year, the team only secured a 9th-12th finish at The International 2016. This disappointing result combined with the uncertainty of the roster made Miracle- explore new opportunities.
Winning TI just one year into the career
At the end of 2016, Miracle- joined a revamped Team Liquid roster led by Kuro “KuroKy” Salehi Takhasomi. The team put on mixed results at first, but Miracle- always stepped up when the team needed him. Under KuroKy’s leadership, the team won The International 2017, and Miracle-, who only started playing professionally one year prior, got his name forever immortalised in the coveted Aegis Of Champions.
He continued to show dominance after TI7, with fans and other players regarding him as one of the best players and even nicknaming him the M God. He reached The International Grand Final again in 2019, but this time, OG denied them the thitle. After 2019, Team Liquid players left the org to form a new team known as Team Nigma.
Decision for a break
Team Nigma had a strong start but the previous years had not been kind to them. They were relegated to Division II during the Tour 3 of WEU but with the help of Syed “Sumail” Hassan, they managed to get promoted back to Division I. However, they failed to qualify for The International for two consecutive years.
I have decided that it's time for me to go on a break from competitive play to take care of health issues. You will be seeing more of me behind the scenes supporting and helping the team. https://t.co/snSyNtEc7B
