After a huge contractual dispute, Ammar “ATF” Al-Assaf leaves Quest Esports.

There is no doubt that, at first, this news surprised the entire Dota 2 community worldwide, especially after the team’s spectacular showing at the Bali Major 2023. However, shortly before the start of the Riyadh Masters 2023, the organization decided to terminate the offlaner after various contractual problems.

Recall that ATF came to Quest Esports on loan from Nigma Galaxy in May this year, i.e., the player was not part of Quest’s active roster.

The team must move quickly to get a new player or some understudy for Riyadh Masters 2023. In addition, this player will also have to play the Western European Qualifiers for the upcoming The International 2023, so Quest must select carefully, but very quickly, who that fifth player will be.

ATF exits Quest Esports

As we mentioned, Quest Esports dropped ATF at this crucial moment in the 2023 Dota 2 competitive scene season. This move, no doubt, causes a lot of astonishment in the community, as ATF was, by far, the team’s best player at the Bali Major 2023. Not only did he help the team raise their level of play considerably, but he also led them to be among the top four in the tournament. However, due to different contractual disputes to which no agreement was reached, the player decided to leave the team imminently.

As we observe, Quest Esports expresses its disappointment after all this situation they had to handle with ATF since this was the fundamental pillar of their team in the race in the Bali Major 2023 race. As a result, the organization expressed their “gratitude” to ATF for their time and hard work in this short time.

On the other hand, they also expressed their regret to the organization for not resolving these contractual disputes.

Quest must make a quick decision

With only three days left before the start of Riyadh Masters 2023, Quest Esports must look for a new player for their Dota 2 squad if they want to be up to the task. Also, at the moment, there are very few high-level players in free agency, so they are likely to seek a loan from another team.

However, we also have the likes of Tobias “Tobi” Buchner and Roman “Resolut1on” Fomynok currently in free agency, so they may be the top options in these pressing times.

Finally, it is also worth noting that Quest Esports recently announced the departure of Alexander “Accell” Litvienko, their former Head Coach. As a result, team fans are now very expectant of what Quest can do for the remainder of the season.

Currently, the Quest Esports lineup looks as follows:

  • Aybek “TA2000” Tokayev
  • Tony “No!ob” Assaf
  • Omar “OmaR” Moughrabi
  • Oleh “kaori” Medvedok
