After several weeks of rumors and speculation, it’s finally here. VALORANT welcomes the year 2023 with the arrival of Revelation, Episode 6 Act 1.

Riot Games’ tactical shooter has launched this new chapter with a spectacular cinematic, with a unique story full of lots of action. This new episode brings many new features, a new map, a new Battle Pass, and the restart of the ranked ladder.

Video Recap

If we detail very well this spectacular video, we can notice some fascinating details.

First, we see Harbor and Astra, who go deep into the jungle of India to the location of the game’s new map. On the other hand, we have Omen and Sage in an unknown VALORANT base.

Finally, we have Fade in a nightclub in his hometown, Istanbul. Killjoy, Raze, and Jett are in a restaurant in a South Korean city.

Everything that brings Episode 6 Act 1 of VALORANT

As mentioned, Astra and Harbor enter Lotus, the new VALORANT map. Immediately the alert reaches the other agents of the game, who arrive to fight. The video ends with the confrontation between these two sides, further adding to the game’s story.

New map: Lotus

VALORANT’s new map is Lotus, a fantastic site carved into an Indian rock face with imposing structures.

Like other maps in the game, Lotus has three Sites to plant the Spike, revolving doors that open with a switch, and a destructible connector.

Lotus will be playable only in Swiftplay mode for the first week of the 6.0 update. After that, the map will be part of the official competitive Map Pool when the 6.1 updates are released.

Split returns with some changes

Split returns to VALORANT after several months of absence, with some significant tweaks but without drastic changes.

  • Below, we will detail the patch notes regarding Split’s modifications.
  • At Site A, the opening area for the attackers has been enlarged, and a slight overhang has been added.
  • The area of the beams in A has been partially removed, so players cannot keep the high angle in the corner.
  • In Mid, players can now silently drop down the platform. And the “trick jump” to the box at Mid has been removed.
  • In Tower B, the Defender’s side jump box has been removed.

Changes in the competitive scene

The changes in the competitive scene in VALORANT patch 6.0 are:

  • Rank Reset: After your ranked matches, expect a slightly lower rank than you had at the end of Episode Five.
  • Ranking gains/losses will depend a little more on wins and losses from now on and a little less on the exact round differential.
  • For players whose rankings are far from their MMR, RR gains will depend more on individual performance than round differential.
