Team Vitality beat ENCE to become champions of Gamers8 2023

The CS:GO event of the Gamers8 2023 esports festival is history; after an intense Grand Final, Team Vitality beat ENCE to become the tournament champions. In addition to the beautiful championship trophy, Vitality took home a juicy $400,000 prize money.

There is no doubt that this is yet another demonstration that Team Vitality is one of the most solid, dangerous, and consistent teams in the CS:GO scene. However, we cannot overlook ENCE, a team that has to work and fight hard to qualify for the different Tier 1 tournaments (they are not part of the partnerships with BLAST or ESL). Similarly, the international squad does not eat stories and is back in a TOP 2 of a major tournament in recent months.

While it is true that the MVP of the tournament was won by Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut of Team Vitality, Alvaro “SunPayus” Garcia of ENCE had an amazing tournament and, at times, managed to put Vitality under a lot of pressure.

Now, without further ado, let’s see what happened in the Grand Final match between ENCE and Team Vitality.

Team Vitality came from behind to beat ENCE 2-1

The table was set for a high-caliber match, and both teams did not disappoint. Both ENCE and Team Vitality left everything in every round to try and take the win. However, Team Vitality was the one that came out on top, as after losing the first map, they managed to come from behind to win the series 2-1 and thus proclaim themselves champions of the tournament.

The ENCE and Team Vitality series was played on Anubis, Mirage, and Nuke.

Anubis

It all started at Anubis, ENCE’s map pick, where SunPayus led the international squad to take a solid 16-7 victory. The first thing we saw was an excellent performance by ENCE, who managed to take a comfortable victory in the first half by 11-4.

Then, in the second half, Team Vitality won the first 3 rounds to score 7-11, but that was all there was to it, as ENCE won the next 5 rounds to secure the first map victory by 16-7.

Mirage

The teams then moved to Mirage, Vitality’s map pick, where things slowly began to change. In the first half, Team Vitality got around ENCE’s defense excellently and managed to take a 9-6 partial victory, thanks to an exemplary performance by ZywOo. At the change of sides, ENCE came back into the game and managed to get 12-13 on the scoreboard, but, Vitality’s defense reacted at the end of the map to take the victory by 16-12 and thus equalize the series 1-1.

Nuke

Finally, we turn to Nuke, the deciding map of this Gamers8 2023 Grand Final. With ENCE starting on their CT side, we watched a fair and balanced match ending with a partial first-half score of 8-7 in ENCE’s favor. We all thought the rest of the map would be equally balanced, but we were far from reality.

At the change of sides, Team Vitality implemented a spectacular and impenetrable defense to take a partial victory by 9-1. Finally, Vitality seal the map with an excellent result of 16-9. As a result, Team Vitality was crowned Gamers8 2023 champion. In addition, they took home the juicy prize of $400,000.
