Ricochet introduce “hallucinations” to cheaters in Call of Duty MW2 and Warzone

As we all know, the bane of all online multiplayer video games are hackers who take it upon themselves to damage games by using their cheats to take advantage of them. However, RICHOCHET, the platform in charge of preventing cheaters in MW2 and Warzone, always tries to make these players experience hell before banning their accounts permanently.

RICHOCHET implemented a new measure to hit these cheaters in MW2 and Warzone games in one of the latest updates. We are talking about that the moment a cheater is detected in a game; they will start seeing hallucinations; that is, they will see two or three opponents that, in reality, do not exist.

Activision and RICOCHET and their fight against Cheaters

Undoubtedly, the fight with all cheaters in all online multiplayer games will never end. Each time there are new measures to combat this type of player bent on ruining the quality of life of other players in a game.

RICOCHET added a new measure to combat all players who use cheats in a Call of Duty game. In this measure, as we mentioned, instead of immediately expelling cheaters, it makes them have hallucinations on the map, so they will see enemies that are not actually in the games. In addition, there is also the fact that RICOCHET will now be able to receive the data of the hack that the player is using to analyze and combat them in more detail.

This measure will also serve as a way for cheaters in a Call of Duty game to discover themselves. In addition to seeing opponents who are not really in the game, the rest of the players will be able to identify them by seeing them shoot at nothing.

In any game, hackers are responsible for damaging the quality of life of the other legal players, especially in those Ranked in both MW2 and Warzone.

We have always said that if these measures are applied correctly, and RICOCHET is firm in its decisions, very soon, we can have a Call of Duty free of cheaters.

How does the measure work?

All those Call of Duty cheaters who RICOCHET detects will see a “decoy character” that will behave “just like a real player.”. Put another way, these characters are similar to Mirage in Apex Legends. As a result, this will serve to “disorient cheaters” while RICOCHET analyzes the software they are using.

According to the official Call of Duty blog, the hallucinations that cheaters will see are not an AI combatant, as they are exact clones of one of the other players in the game. In other words, this makes it much more real.

There is no doubt that this is a very creative move by RICOCHET and Activision to combat cheaters in CoD. Also, the main thing is to give these players a hard time to prevent them from doing it again through other accounts.

However, we will have to wait for this method’s effectiveness in the next few days.
