Rekkles returns to LEC studios in a big way

In the exhibition match before the start of LEC, Martin Larsson “Rekkles” pulled out one of his classic picks when it was playable in its AD version. Thanks to that, Kennen could eliminate four opponents from the fight in an intermediate skirmish with his combo of skills and the ultimate.

The main leagues of the most vital League of Legends regions hold exhibition games the days before the start of the competition. These matches combine players from every team that is part of the tournament. One of the latest to do so is the revamped EMEA region, with an incredible best-of-three exhibition series between Team Legacy and Team Dynasty.

A last-minute surprise to all was that 113 was indisposed and could not participate in the exhibition match. Consequently, his teammate Astralis Finn was asked to replace rookie, former Karmine Corp. player.

There was a lot of expectation for this exhibition game, as it was the return of Rekkles to Riot Games studios in Berlin, after being away for the whole of 2022 competing in the French league.

Rekkles ‘gives’ himself a quadra kill on his comeback

To add a touch of excitement and make the whole thing a spectacle, the players were out of their role in these three maps, choosing champions that we are not used to seeing a large part of them.

With the draw in this clash between Team Legacy and Team Dynasty, Rekkles took one of his picks with which he shone his light, although it is true that he disappeared from the bottom lane meta a few seasons ago.

Now let’s talk a bit about Kennen in his AD version. The Swede played it in the top lane, reminding us of old times in his previous stage as a shooter in Fnatic. However, with a champion focused more on farming, clearing waves, and being decisive on the sidelines, Rekkles also provided fans with his first big play this year.

In a skirmish on the river on the blue and red sides, he and his team took advantage of their numerical superiority to win a four vs. five, where the Swede eliminated all four opponents.

League of Legends EMEA

Next weekend, January 21st, the renewed League of Legends EMEA Championship begins. In this championship, you will be able to enjoy Rekkles alongside Razork, Elyoya, and the debuts of KOI and Team Heretics in the MOBA elite.

A total of 6 matches will be played in the first two days of the LEC. The fixtures for the final week are not yet known.
