DreamLeague S20 features a lot of great teams but some of them are slightly underrated. These teams could easily cause some serious upsets during the tournament, so they’re worth keeping an eye on.

Of course, the favorites are the usual suspects: Gamin Gladiators, Team Liquid, Tundra Esports, Team Aster, and 9Pandas. But apart from these teams, at least two more have the potential to be among the highest-ranked.

Shopify Rebellion

In recent weeks, we’ve seen Shopify Rebellion winning every match in North America’s Division I without losing a single game. We’ve also seen Artour “Arteezy” Babaev enjoying himself and displaying his formidable abilities on his stream.

On top of that, Shopify have one of the best captains in the history of the game: Tal “Fly” Aizik. If his read of the current meta is good, and we have strong reasons to believe that it is, Shopify Rebellion could easily get a top six result at this tournament. If fact, they could climb as high as third place.

It’s a bit difficult to imagine them playing in the Grand Final, but a top four or at least a top six result should not be hard to obtain. But nobody gives them much of a chance because they’re a North American team with no real adversary in the region.

Team Spirit

Spirit are currently leading the regional race in Tour 3. They are 5 W – 0 L in Eastern Europe and their display of skill has been exciting to watch. One thing that people forget about them is that they haven’t made a roster change in a long time. In fact, since their victory at The International 10, they only changed one player.

Spirit have one of the best carry players in the world. Illya “Yatoro” Mulyarchuk is a 20-year-old who plays with the confidence and skill of a 25-year-old. His love for the game is obvious and his ability to make the right decisions is absolutely incredible.

Anyone who’s watched his pub games knows that he often wins them almost on his own and he does it in 20-30 minutes. If Spirit’s strategy is sound, his mechanics and decision-making will likely lead the team to many victories at DreamLeague S20.

It remains to be seen what Spirit can do on the international stage, but locally they’ve looked very impressive over the past two weeks.
