The 2023 season started a few days or weeks ago, and already many organizations have begun to make changes. Some in their staff, others in their technical direction. We are sure that they are all very actively looking to create the ideal team, from every point of view, to be the best in their respective esports.

One of the organizations that have decided to make a radical change is OG, which has decided to divest itself of the services of CEO JMR Luna. Luna had many essential contributions within OG esports, some of them such as the documentaries Monkey Business Show and Road to TI.

OG Esports is without a CEO

OG Esports, known as one of the world’s largest and most popular organizations, announced a few hours ago a change in its leadership following the resignation of JMR Luna as CEO.

The announcement does not reveal whether Luna will remain part of the organization or leave it altogether. Moreover, Luna’s replacement as CEO of OG has not yet been announced.

OG Esports’ announcement reads:

“OG Esports announces that JMR Luna has stepped down as CEO. This decision was agreed upon after many months of discussions and considerations from all parties. On behalf of OG Esports, we would like to express our appreciation for what we have accomplished over the past few years and wish him the best for his future.”

OG Esports also notes that they plan to continue to grow with their two main figures, Johan “N0tail” Sundstein and Sébastien “Ceb” Debs. On the other hand, they also ratified that their successful projects, such as Monkey Business Show, will continue.

Luna pushed OG Esports to significant limits

JMR Luna came to OG Esports from the film industry. Before accepting the position as CEO of OJ, Luna worked as Head of Content for the popular North American organization Evil Geniuses.

Undoubtedly, his skills are unique within esports, which has led to the organization having some very successful projects.

For example, under Luna’s tenure, OG launched the weekly Monkey Business podcasts, which are presented alongside N0tail. This podcast usually features special guests such as well-known players, casters, and streamers. In addition, OG also runs the Monkey Business Show for major esports events each season, such as the ESL One Stockholm Major and The International.

Another successful series of OG Esports under JMR Luna’s tenure was Road to the International. Where we learned about its extraordinary cinematic qualities; this series is based on the history of OG players, all for the fans to become familiar with them.
