MrBeast has to remove “Deez Nutz” Branding from Feastables Bars

YouTube star MrBeast has been hit with a lawsuit from Florida-based company ‘Dee’s Nuts’ and has been ordered to stop using the phrase ‘Deez Nuts’ to sell his peanut butter chocolate bars. MrBeast is known for his over-the-top videos and jaw-dropping challenges, but he is also a content creator who launched his ‘Feastables’ line of chocolate bars in 2022 to wide acclaim from fans.

In February 2023, MrBeast launched a new peanut butter flavored chocolate bar named ‘Deez Nuts.’ Although the name was a hit with viewers, it looks like another company took umbrage with the moniker. The lawsuit has come as a surprise to many of MrBeast’s fans, who are used to seeing him push the boundaries with his content.

MrBeast can’t use ‘Deez Nuts’ chocolate bar name after lawsuit

In August 2023, MrBeast’s Feastables company was sued by Dee’s Nuts, a Jacksonville-based company that sells tins of flavored peanuts. Dee’s Nuts claimed that Feastables was infringing on their copyright by using the name ‘Deez Nuts’ for their peanut butter chocolate bars. Feastables argued that the phrase ‘deez nuts’ had become a common internet meme and was being used in a humorous and sarcastic way, but the court ruled in favor of Dee’s Nuts.

As a result of the lawsuit, Feastables can no longer use the name ‘Deez Nuts’ to sell their products. According to court documents, Feastables agreed that the name was “confusingly similar to Dee’s Nuts.” However, as of now, MrBeast’s ‘Deez Nuts’ peanut butter chocolate bars are still available for sale on his website.

The lawsuit against Feastables could have negative implications for the brand. The removal of the “deez nutz” branding could affect Feastables’ market presence, as the chocolate bar has been a major contributor to the sales spike of the brand.

However, the company is considering alternatives to the branding after the lawsuit.
