MLBB: Ch4knu in for Smart Omega as team rescues MPL-PH S13 playoffs hopes

Finally, the Ch4kmamba has come back.

The veteran roamer’s return was announced by Smart Omega last April 22nd.

In a statement, Smart Omega said, “Chakmamba is back in action dahil siya ay magbabalik na at makakasama na ng Bagong Barangay Omega. Thank you so much for all the effort you have given to Smart Omega Neos, Ch4knu!”

[TRANSLATION: Chakmamba is back in action because he is making a return and will be part of the New Barangay Omega.]

Ch4knu’s return to the main MPL Philippines stage could not have come at a more opportune time as he is expected to beef up the player lineup of the main Smart Omega team, which is in danger of being eliminated from playoff contention in the current MPL Philippines Season 13.

The 2021 MSC Champion had suited up for Omega’s developmental team, Smart Omega NEOS, and had helped lead Omega NEOS to a strong second-place performance in the ongoing MDL Philippines Season 3.

Ch4knu’s place in Omega NEOS will be filled up by the returning Gabriel “Louis” Arriola, who is being transferred back to NEOS from the Smart Omega MPL roster.

This is the second major move that the team had done in recent weeks to try and salvage its playoff hopes alive, the other being a swap between Jayson “Ukir” Alupit suiting up for the main Omega roster while Dexter “Exort” Martinez suiting up for Omega NEOS.

Smart Omega currently has a 1-9 win-loss record, sitting at seventh place. If Omega fails to win any more games in the weeks moving forward, this is the first time in recent seasons that the Barangay will be out of playoff contention.
