Bleed Esports is an esports organization that has a decent Dota 2 team in Southeast Asia’s Division I. Those who don’t follow the SEA region probably haven’t heard of it because the team never finished in the top three or played at a DPC Major.

But SEA fans know that Bleed Esports have a roster full of exceptional players, including Daryl “iceiceice” Xiang, Djardel “DJ” Mampusti, and Kim “DuBu” Doo-young.

Up until a few days ago, the team’s coach was Lee “Forev” Sang-don, a South Korean who finished in the top six at The International 2016. But now his place was taken by anoter famous veteran: Rasmus “MISERY” Filipsen.

Who is MISERY

At the age of nearly 32, MISERY needs little introduction. Dota 2 fans know him from his Team Secret years, as well as his Digital Chaos and Evil Geniuses years. With Secret, MISERY won the Shanghai Major and played in the Grand Final of the Frankfurt Major. With DC, he played in the Grand Final of The International 2016.

Overall, his Dota 2 player career was quite successful. Few players achieve what he achieved and despite being at the top for just several years, he made a big impact on the game while he was in his prime.

As a coach, MISERY has had two TI participations. One with paiN Gaming and one with TSM. Both times, his teams failed miserably and finished last.

The most significant results he has obtained so far were TSM’s second place at ESL One Stockholm Major 2022 and seventh-eight place at Riyadh Masters and ESL One Malaysia. Both events took place during the same year.

Now, MISERY has decided to move to Southeast Asia. This is a new region for him but the odds of getting good results with Bleed Esports are more than decent. Of all the six regions, SEA is probably the weakest at the moment. Apart from Talon Esports, nobody is strong enough to be unbeatable by a lesser team.

The strength difference between competitors is small. This gives Bleed a good chance of finishing in the top three in the third Tour of DPC 2023.

MISERY’s new journey starts on May 15 and his first rival will be Execration. Regionally, this team won Tour 1 and placed second in Tour 2. Internationally, they finished 15th-16th at both Majors. Still, given their local results, Bleed are the underdogs in this match. Winning would mean a lot for the morale of the team.
