Fortnite has once again reached a new high after the player count rose to over 6.5 million following the successful launch of LEGO Fortnite. This is a new record outside of the end of the season last weekend and since the start of the official count in March 2023 on the statistics site Fortnite.gg.

The increase is remarkable, as the average number of players in the middle quarter of the year was a meagre 1.7 million.

Collaboration with LEGO more successful than expected

The new collaboration with popular brick maker LEGO, LEGO Fortnite, alone has about a third of the player base and recorded 2.4 million players on launch day alone, with that number holding steady through the weekend. At the time of writing, LEGO Fortnite has three times the player base of the standard Battle Royale mode, followed by the Zero Build version of Battle Royale (504,313 players) and the newly developed Rocket Racing (331,705), which officially launched on December 8.

Fortnite’s player count is still impressive, although it’s a far cry from the 11.6 million viewers who watched the finale of Chapter Four, dubbed “The Big Bang”.
But given that it was a one-off event, Fortnite’s current player count is still remarkable. Only time will tell how long these numbers will last, but with plenty of activity in the run-up to Christmas, Fortnite certainly isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.Since the launch of the Lego collaboration, Fortnite has seen plenty of new content, including new skins, weapons and items. Players can now also play as Lego characters in the world of Fortnite.

The Fortnite community’s reaction to the Lego collaboration has been largely positive. Many players were excited about the opportunity to play as Lego characters in the world of Fortnite. Through the Lego partnership, there are some special events in Fortnite, including special challenges and rewards for players who use Lego items in the game. There will also be regular new content and updates based on the collaboration with Lego.
