A few hours ago, the groups for the BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2023 were revealed, and we can already breathe the air of some spicy clashes that we are sure to have in the tournament.

Groups revealed

One of these clashes is between two former BLAST Premier: World Finals champions, NaVi and G2 Esports, both of whom won this trophy in 2021 and 2022, respectively. This pair of great teams will share Group C with NiP and BIG.

As we can see, the remaining two groups are also comprised of CS:GO teams of the highest competitive level. We have the winners of BLAST Premier: Fall Finals 2022, Heroic, the ever-present Team Liquid, Team Vitality, and much more.

Likewise, here are the groups for the BLAST Premier Spring Groups 2023.

Group A

  • Heroic
  • Team Vitality
  • Astralis
  • Evil Geniuses

Group B

  • FaZe Clan
  • Team Liquid
  • OG Esports
  • Complexity

Group C

  • G2 Esports
  • NaVi
  • NiP
  • BIG

The Danish team, Astralis, should play this tournament with its top player, AWPer Nicolai “dev1ce” Reedtz, who joined the team last October 27 but has not yet played any Tier-S or Tier-A tournament with the team.

FaZe Clan and Team Liquid are the teams to beat in Group B. There is no doubt about that. Team Liquid was a finalist in the Fall Finals 2022 a few weeks ago, and FaZe Clan had a spectacular 2022 season. However, OG and Complexity also have many options for this tournament, so we cannot underestimate them.

Let’s remember that OG advanced to the semifinals of the BLAST Premier: World Final 2022, while an excellent performance in top-level competitive events has characterized Complexity.

BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2023 schedule and format

The BLAST Premier: Spring Groups 2023 starts on January 19 and ends on January 29. Copenhagen is the venue for this first event of the 2023 CS:GO season.

The tournament will feature the world’s best and strongest teams battling for six spots for the BLAST Premier: Spring Finals 2023.

The format is the usual format for BLAST Premier tournaments. The group stage is played in a triple elimination format (GLS), with the matches played in a best-of-three (BO3) format.

Each group’s winners will earn a berth to the Spring Finals 2023, while the remaining teams will advance to the Play-In Stage.

In the Play-In Stage, teams will play in a Three Single-Elimination gauntlets format, with all matches played in a best-of-three (BO3) form.

The winners of the Play-In will advance to the 2023 Spring Finals, while the remaining teams will play in the 2023 Spring Showdown.
