Dota 2 patch 7.35b is full of overpowered position 3 heroes. Among them, Timbersaw occupies a special place in many players’ hearts. This hero is detested by all carries and for good reason.

During the laning phase, he is nearly impossible to kill. And if you make just a few positional errors, you can easily end up losing your lane despite having the advantage (at least in theory). Furthermore, if Timbersaw’s supports are competent, they will help him at all the right moments and then leave his lane to give him solo XP.

If you haven’t mastered Timbersaw yet, this meta is the perfect moment to start. His win rate is 50.6% and his pick rate is only 6.6%. This means that very few people pick him in pubs. The reason for that is simple. He is not easy to play. To be a good Timbersaw, you must know exactly where the trees are located in each area and then use them to your advantage.

Timbersaw’s strengths in Dota 2 patch 7.35b

Timbersaw has one of the best starting positions in Dota 2. He has 714 HP and 351 mana at level 1, as well as +3 HP and +1.6 mana regen. His stat increase is phenomenal: +3.5 strength, +1.3 agility, and +2.7 intelligence. His main weakness in the early game is his movement speed (285).

Timbersaw is not a hero you will want to use to right-click enemies. He is played almost exclusively using his abilities, which you must learn to properly time and combine to be effective.

Reactive Armor gives Timber a total of 15 – 42 stacks of armor and regen, which last for 10 – 16s each. The bonuses are small per stack, but they quickly add up when you’re surrounded by creeps. The key is to have some armor and HP regen of your own. That way, you will not take that much damage before your stacks start to build.

Timber’s Q, Whirling Death, deals pure damage. And for every tree it cuts, it deals additional damage. So the key is to fight your enemies near trees. The stat loss percent it causes is 13%, which further adds to the damage. In total, this ability can easily deal 400 damage to a target and you can use it every 6s.

Timber’s Chakram, if you have enough mana, will deal a lot of pure damage: 110 – 200 instantly and 50 – 100 per second after that. The cooldown is just 8s, so you can spam it.

The hardest ability to master on Timber is Timber Chain. This ability gives you a free Blink Dagger that you can use every 4s. But you need to connect to a tree, and that’s not always easy.
