Nowadays, the ambition of processors, graphic cards, and other elements that are part of a Gaming PC makes the equipment reach very high temperatures with moderate use. Of course, this condition increases when running very demanding titles, so users are inevitably concerned.

That is why we have prepared an article where we give you some tips so that you can protect your Gaming PC from temperature increases.

Keep an eye on your computer’s temperature

Although it is a simple concept, many gamers do not know how to control the temperature of their PCs. As a result, they are surprised when it starts to malfunction or breaks down altogether due to the internal heat of some components.

Therefore, some motherboards can read the temperature through the BIOS. However, this function is not very useful while gaming. So free applications can be used to monitor component temperatures, which determines the speed of the installed fans.

On the other hand, it is also a key factor to keep in mind to maintain the proper temperature of the PC and install it in a suitable location. For example, the closer the PC is to the floor, the more likely it is to come into contact with dust or elements that can foul its interior. As a consequence, the fans may become clogged.

It is, therefore, advisable to place the PC on a surface away from corners and the floor. However, if the place where you can put your PC is prone to dust or dirt, we recommend constant cleaning to avoid dust accumulation.

Any gamer can use these tips; however, if you are a computer expert, we have some extra tips you can apply to prevent your PC from overheating.

Expert advice on how to avoid PC overheating

To control the temperature of your PC, you can take advantage of the BIOS since the motherboard allows you to control certain things about your computer. It is important to note that the BIOS automatically controls the speed of the fans; however, you can manually set and vary the speed of the fans.

You must enter the BIOS and manually change the fan speed to make the fans faster. It usually ranges from 30% to 100%; the higher the value, the faster the speed. After adjusting the fan speed, restart the PC to check the changes made.

If you perceive an error, you can select the factory settings to return to the values recommended by the manufacturer.

Another aspect that must be considered is the airflow correctly circulates through the case. This way, the cool air can effectively remove the hot air and prevent the PC from overheating. However, if the internal configuration of the PC is incorrect, the hot air may not be removed correctly.

Finally, the thermal paste can be renewed for users with good knowledge of computers and installation. For example, if the PC is on a long trip, the paste is likely already worn out.
